  • Patent number: 9599261
Abstract: An adjustable joint having an outer housing section and an inner housing section telescopically disposed within the outer housing section. The inner housing section has an exterior portion within the outer housing section and which defines a circumferentially extending shoulder. An annular seal is positioned on the shoulder to create a seal between the outer housing section and the inner housing section. A circumferentially extending heat insulating spacer is attached to the shoulder and abuts the seal to retain the seal in place. A circumferentially extending heat shield is rigidly connected to the shoulder and abuts the heat insulating spacer and is located such that the heat insulating spacer is positioned between the heat shield and the annular seal.

  • Publication number: 20080258407
Abstract: A volumetric sealing system has an outer housing a section having an interior region and a pair of outlets in communication with the interior region. The outer housing section includes an interior surface surrounding the interior region. The volumetric sealing system also has an inner housing section having a first portion disposed within the interior region of the outer housing section and a second portion external to the interior region of the outer housing section. The inner housing section has an exterior surface that contacts the interior surface of the outer housing section. The inner housing section has an interior region for the flow of matter therethrough. The first portion of the inner housing section has an outlet in communication with the interior region of the inner housing section to allow matter to flow from the interior region of the inner housing section to the interior region of the outer housing section.

  • Patent number: 5207414
Abstract: In a light-tight photoplotter, a system handles sheets of photosensitive media from an initial supply location through the photoplotter and advances them to final a location. The system includes a loading device interposed between the supply location and a workpiece support surface on which surface a work operation is conducted on the involved media sheet. It further includes an off-loading device positioned at the opposite end of the workpiece support surface and the collecting location. The loading device includes a locating mechanism which allows the involved media to be precisely oriented on the workpiece support surface in registry with two orthogonally oriented coordinated axis. The system further permits loading and unloading of covered cassettes in daylight without exposing the media supply to light which might otherwise be cast onto it. The system further provides for the safety locking of stacked media within the photoplotter to prevent inadvertent removal.

  • Patent number: 4041601
Abstract: A machine tool with an automatic tool changer in which a new tool is removed from a self-indexing storage magazine and loaded into a spindle journaled in the frame of the machine. A tool changer mechanism comprises a carriage slidably mounted on the frame for movement substantially parallel to the axis of the spindle and a boom pivotally mounted in the carriage. The boom has first and second telescoping transfer arms for receiving and conveying tools to the spindle and the magazine. The transfer arms are substantially coplanar and perpendicular to the axis of the spindle but displaced relative to each other at a fixed acute angle.
