  • Patent number: 7156790
Abstract: A device is provided for exercising the muscles of the back, which includes a chair seat and a rod fastened to a feet plate. The feet plate is coupled to a tilting member which is surrounded by a damping member. The damping member can rest on a bottom plate which is fastened by a fastening member. A cloth which surrounds the damping member and is fastened to the feet plate can replace the bottom plate and the fastening member. It is further an advantage that the rod is telescopic. The tilting member can have a circular cross section and a downwardly conical form. The damping member which surrounds the tilting member is of a flexible material and may be fastened to the feet plate by the fastening means member which can assist in dampening the movement of the tilting member.

  • Patent number: 6800306
Abstract: The present invention relates to gelled feed products, means for making said products and a method for manufacturing gelled feed products. The product comprises 80-98 weight % raw material of animal or marine origin pre-treated with KOH and/or NaOH, KHCO3, K2CO3, NaHCO3, Na2CO3, or (NH4)2CO3 and 0.5-5 weight % alginate or pectin, a calcium source standard feed ingredients and calcium. The product may contain 0-10 weight % fish meal or carbohydrates. Said means are raw material of animal or marine origin pre-treated with alkali giving said raw material a pH of 8-12. The method comprises mixing raw materials of marine or animal origin, comprising offals, alginate or pectin, and a calcium source and standard feed ingredients, particulating said mixture into any useful geometrical shape, expose it to acid treatment in a bath. The raw material is pre-treated with alkali or to addition of alginate or pectin. The resulting mixture is formed into desired shape and treated in an acid bath to form the gelled product.

  • Patent number: 5993875
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of cooling and preservation of fish and fish products from thus treated fish. The fish is cooled by a cooling medium in tanks, containers or other suitable facilities, and also subjected to treatment of at least one preservative agent. The fish is subjected to a combined treatment of a cooling medium and a preservative agent and said treatment is performed by means of a cooling medium comprising C.sub.1-4 monocarboxylic acids and/or mono/di or tetra salts of alkali- and/or earth alkal salts of said acids. The cooling is performed by a cooling medium, being an aqueous solution of C.sub.1-4 monocarboxylic salts in a concentration of 5-30 weight % salts and 95-70% weight water, or binary ice comprising a preservative agent. The most preferred brine or binary ice comprises potassium formate and/or potassium diformate and/or formic acid. The pH of the brine can be adjusted by addition of an acid or disalt being the equivalent of the monosalt applied in the brine.

  • Patent number: 5863586
Abstract: The invention provides a new feed product, especially a fish feed product in the form of pellets or particles, with high fat content and superior physical properties. The product is made by immersing feed pellets in a first hot oil bath with a temperature higher than 100.degree. C. to secure drying of and simultaneous fat absorbtion. This treatment is followed by a cooling in a warm oil bath kept at a temperature of 40.degree.-60.degree. C. This completes the fat absorbtion and results in a dry product consisting of hard and smooth particles with high fat content, which are free flowing and do not agglomerate.
