Contained within the housing, the aerosol delivery device also comprises a heating element controllable to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition, and a power source configured to power the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. The power source comprises a lithium-ion battery (LiB) having an anode formed of graphite, silicon or lithium titanate (LTO), a cathode formed of lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide, lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide, lithium iron phosphate or lithium manganese oxide, and a polymer separator between the anode and cathode.
