  • Patent number: 9557447
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for adding a chosen functional coating on an optical surface of a spectacle lens. In one implementation, it is determined if identified features of the optical surface of the spectacle lens are compatible with the chosen functional coating according to a first set of rules. The features of the optical surface are identified based on an analysis of a quality of the optical surface. Manufacturing information for the chosen functional coating is generated based on the determined compatibility. The manufacturing information includes information for depositing the chosen functional coating on the optical surface where the identified features are compatible with the chosen functional coating and on a modified optical surface where the identified features are not compatible with the chosen functional coating.

  • Publication number: 20100003508
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical article comprising a substrate, and, from the substrate upward: an organic antistatic coating comprising at least one conductive polymer, an adhesive and/or impact-resistant primer coating deposited onto said antistatic coating, and an abrasion-resistant and/or scratch-resistant coating deposited onto said adhesive and/or impact-resistant primer coating. The optical article has very short static charge dissipation times and its antistatic properties are stable over time.

  • Publication number: 20080002260
    Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical article having anti-reflection properties and high thermal resistance, comprising a substrate having at least one main face coated with a multi-layer anti-reflection coating comprising a stack of at least one high refractive index layer and at least one low refractive index layer, wherein the ratio: R T = sum ? ? of ? ? the ? ? physical ? ? thicknesses ? ? of ? ? the low ? ? refractive ? ? index ? ? layers ? ? of ? ? the ? anti ? - ? reflection ? ? coating sum ? ? of ? ? the ? ? physical ? ? thicknesses ? ? of ? ? the high ? ? refractive ? ? index ? ? layers ? ? of ? ? the ? anti ? - ? reflection ? ? coating is higher than 2.1.

  • Patent number: 7175878
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for making an antiglare stack by vacuum evaporation on an organic substrate (1) at a temperature lower than 150° C., comprising steps which consist in depositing at least a layer of material having a refractive index different from that of MgF2 (4, 4?), preparing the surface of the thus coated substrate, and depositing an outer MgF2 layer (5) without ionic assistance. The resulting antiglare stack on organic substrate exhibits good adherence and good scratch resistance. The invention is applicable to ophthalmic lenses.
