  • Publication number: 20240035410
Abstract: A flow guiding device for an internal combustion engine includes a main body substantially in the shape of a surface shell of a truncated cone and/or a cylinder and a plurality of orifices in the main body. The main body is adapted to be mounted between a cylinder head body and an ignition assembly of the internal combustion engine, and wherein the orifices are adapted to guide a cooling medium between an outside volume and an inside volume of the truncated cone or cylinder.

  • Patent number: 10876571
Abstract: A connecting rod is provided, which includes a rod shaft and a rod cap. The rod shaft and the rod cap can be releasably fastened through connecting means to form a connected state, and when the rod shaft and the rod cap are in the connected state, they form a rod eye configured to enclose a bore for mounting the connecting rod on a crank shaft. The rod shaft and the rod cap have contact surfaces at which they touch each other in the connected state. The contact surfaces have an interlocking section-wise serration, and the contact surfaces have an un-serrated section.

  • Publication number: 20150377178
Abstract: A system includes a cylinder liner for a reciprocating engine, where the cylinder liner has a piston bore configured to receive a piston. The cylinder liner includes a first end having a flange configured to interface with a cylinder head. Further, the system includes a cooling passage configured to receive a fluid to cool the cylinder liner, where a first portion of the cooling passage is defined by and disposed within the flange.

  • Publication number: 20140119926
Abstract: A rotor blade assembly for a wind turbine includes a ring insert in the blade root section. The blade root section has a span-wise end portion defined by an inner circumferential component and an outer circumferential component, with a radial gap between the components. The ring insert is disposed in the radial gap and is bonded to the inner and outer circumferential components. The ring insert has an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface, wherein at least one of the inner or outer circumferential surfaces has a radially varying cross-sectional profile that increases bonding surface contact area between the inner or outer circumferential surface and the respective circumferential component of the blade root section as compared to a constant radius cross-sectional profile.

  • Publication number: 20050019766
Abstract: The present invention relates to the characterization of mutants in the genes isp-1 and ctb-1, which are genes that have a function at the level of cellular physiology, mitochondrial respiration and electron transport, and resistance to oxidative stress, as well as regulating developmental, behavioral, reproductive and aging rates. Mutations in the genes isp-1 and ctb-1 are also provided. These genes and the protein they encode are used in a perspective of growth and aging control and in a therapeutic perspective for diseases in which mitochondrial function is altered. There is also provided methods of identification of compounds for the manipulation of the function of the isp-1 and ctb-1 genes and their protein products, as well as for the manipulation of the functions of mitochondria.
