  • Patent number: 8583941
Abstract: A computer checking tool that can repeatedly process a plurality of data sets including data distributed according to a statistical rule may include an estimator that can establish, for a data set, a value characterizing the reproduction of a criterion concerning the data contained therein. The tool may also include a driver that calls the estimator with a plurality of data sets in order to determine a plurality of values, establish a new plurality of sets from the plurality of values, and repeat the estimator call with a new previously established plurality of sets until a condition is verified that involves an extremum of the plurality of values and/or number of repetitions. In addition, the tool may include a mixer that establishes a new set of data on the basis of an existing data set while maintaining the distribution according to the statistical rule.

  • Publication number: 20120060061
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer checking tool that can repeatedly process a plurality of data sets including data distributed according to a statistical rule. The tool includes an estimator (8) that can establish, for a data set, a value characterising the reproduction of a criterion concerning the data contained therein, a driver (6) designed to call the estimator (8) with a plurality of data sets in order to determine a plurality of values and establish a new plurality of sets from the plurality of values, and repeat the estimator (8) call with a new previously established plurality of sets until a condition is verified that involves an extremum of said plurality of values and/or number of repetitions.

  • Patent number: 6744496
Abstract: A method of measuring the error rate of an optical transmission system transmitting a signal by detecting the signal, and asynchronously sampling the signal at a frequency independent of the bit rate of the signal to obtain K samples of the signal at respective times t1 to tK, where K is an integer greater than or equal to 2. The eye diagram of the signal, the error rate of the signal and the bit time of the signal are then computed.
