  • Patent number: 9338734
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for discovering neighbor cells (NC) in a radio cellular network (NTW) comprising cells, each served by a controller (eNB), the method comprising, with respect to a controller (eNB) serving a cell (C): (a): selecting a frequency (f) in a frequency list, each frequency being associated with a priority (Prio), a target value (TV) and a counter (Count), and wherein said frequency (f) is selected in the frequency list according to its priority (Prio); (b): selecting a terminal (UE) located in the cell (C) and connected with the controller (eNB); (c): sending a control message to the selected terminal (UE), said control message comprising a request to perform radio measurements relating to neighbor cells (NC) of the cell (C), for the selected frequency (f); (d): incrementing the counter (Count) associated with the frequency (f); (e): if the counter (Count) is equal to the target value (TV) for the selected frequency (f), then deleting the selected frequency (f) from the fre

  • Patent number: 8265028
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of assigning cell identifiers to a plurality of cells. The method includes detecting cells within a selected distance from a first cell in the plurality of cells. The distance is selected to encompass portions of neighbor cells of the first cell and neighbor-of-neighbor cells of the first cell. The method also includes assigning a first cell identifier to the first cell. The first cell identifier is different than cell identifiers assigned to the cells detected within the selected distance from the first cell.

  • Publication number: 20110092210
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of determining handoff parameters. One embodiment of the method includes determining values of a hysteresis for a handoff from a serving cell, one or more pairwise offset values for hand off between the serving cell and one or more neighbor cells, and one or more times-to-trigger (TTTs) for hand off between the serving cell and the neighbor cell(s). The values may be determined So that hand off is triggered beyond a first distance from the serving cell selected to avoid ping-ponging and within a second distance from the serving cell selected so that a mobile unit moving at a selected velocity does not travel beyond a third distance within the TTT.

  • Publication number: 20080030418
Abstract: The invention relates to a printed antenna comprising a dielectric substrate (CS1, CS2) supporting feeder lines (LA1, LA2) and first and second T-shaped dipoles (D1, D2) of different sizes for dual-band operation. Each dipole includes a stem (J1, J2) and two radiating arms (B1, B2) separated by a coupling slot (FC1, FC2) made in the stem. For compactness of the antenna, the stems are partly superimposed, the coupling slots are aligned and a decoupling cut-out (ED) is made in the second dipole so as to uncover the coupling slot of the first dipole, by virtue of their superposition. The substrate can comprise one, two or three layers. Plural antennas can constitute an antenna network used as a base element in one-dimensional or two-dimensional network.
