Abstract: The volute of an evaporative cooler is provided with a flange, and there are provided interengaging surfaces on the volute flange and discharge panel of the cooler retaining those elements in contiguity, and there are further provided at least two pairs of volute support means spaced from one another and from the volute flange such that the volute can function as compression means between the top and bottom panels notwithstanding the direction of discharge of cooled air from the cooler cabinet.

Abstract: A plate-like water distributor having a plurality of upstanding ribs which deflect a flow of water into a plurality of streams which discharge over a downturned peripheral edge, the underside of the distributor near that edge having a plurality of retaining means thereon which engage and retain the upper end of an absorptive pad.

Abstract: The fan of an evaporative cooler rotates about a generally horizontal axis, and its shaft carries a "driving" wheel which engages a driven wheel on the upper end of the pump spindle, which extends vertically downwardly to the base tank. The pump is pivotally mounted to the assembly of the base tank, cabinet and fan housing, and a releasable spring extending between the pump and that assembly retains the two wheels in driving engagement. The pump can be lifted out of the cabinet by simply releasing the spring.

Abstract: A cooler case of the evaporative type cooler the elements of which comprise a tank body, opposite side panels, a rear panel and a top panel, the assembly of these elements being effected by positioning the side panels on the upper edges of the tank walls and hinging the side panels towards one another so as to lock the side panels both to one another and to the base wall, and locking the top panel to the side panels, said locking including interengagement of barb surfaces, thereby totally eliminating metal fasteners.

Abstract: A table frame assembly has four frame members, four end brackets and four stay brackets, all to be secured to the under surface of a table top, the end brackets being diagonally disposed and joining the adjacent ends of the frame members, four legs, pivot means between the ends of each leg and a respective end bracket, and four articulated links interconnecting the respective legs to respective stay brackets arranged to also be secured to the under surface of the table top.

Abstract: An evaporative air cooler including improved means for distributing water through the evaporative pad of the cooler through which air is drawn for cooling, the improved water distributing means comprising a tray-like member having a water inlet arranged to introduce water at an approximate central location on said tray-like member, and a plurality of radially outwardly extending water-flow channels extending between the water inlet location and a peripheral edge portion of the member, the tray-like member being located relative to the evaporative pad such that, during use, water issuing from the water flow channels runs downwardly through the evaporative pad.
