  • Publication number: 20150184347
Abstract: An edge cutter associated with a drum of a compactor is provided. The edge cutter includes a back plate, an actuator, a bracket and a cutting unit. The back plate is fixedly attached to a shaft of the drum. The actuator includes a first end coupled to the back plate. The actuator is configured to extend or retract along an actuating axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the steering shaft where the longitudinal axis is an axis of rotation of the drum. The bracket is coupled to a second end of the actuator. The actuator is configured to move the bracket along the actuating axis. The cutting unit has a rotating blade. The cutting unit is coupled to the bracket and is configured to move along with the bracket.

  • Patent number: 5969233
Abstract: A current collecting shoe for transferring energy from a catenary wire to rolling stock, includes a sheath constructed and arranged for fixing to a pantograph carried by the rolling stock, a wearing strip including graphite mounted on the sheath, a longitudinal slot or boring in the wearing strip and a tubular section disposed within the boring or at least partially within the slot. The tubular section is thermally stable at a temperature of at least 400.degree. C., and constructed of a material having a hardness of at least 4 on the Mohs scale and an electrical conductivity greater than graphite. This tubular section acts as an electrical conductor to transfer energy from the wearing strip to the rolling stock, and is constructed and arranged for sealing with a fluid therein and connection to a fluid pressure detection means.
