  • Patent number: 10316194
Abstract: A surface treated high aspect ratio talc may be surface treated with a surface treatment agent including a polymeric species including one or more ether linkages. Functional compositions including a surface treated high aspect ratio talc may be polymer compositions. A process for preparing a surface treated high aspect ratio talc may include mixing the high aspect ratio talc and surface treatment agent. A process for preparing a polymer composition may include combining a high aspect ratio talc with a polymer in an amount of at least about 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer composition.

Date of Patent: June 11, 2019
    Assignee: ImerTech SAS

  • Publication number: 20070210474
Abstract: The invention relates to the preparation of a divided solid composition comprising a talc powder at least a fraction of which consists of grains of talc bonded together in the form of aggregates whose average size is greater than that of said grains of talc. As well as being highly compatible with a large number of thermoplastic resins and having a high talc content, at least of the order of 75%, a divided solid composition obtained according to the invention can be dispersed into fine talc particles in thermoplastic materials during the shaping of these thermoplastic materials (processes with low shear, such as injection moulding, extrusion of sheets/films, etc.) using conventional techniques and equipment. The invention accordingly permits the production of thermoplastic articles loaded with talc without having to use expensive composites (or compounds).

  • Patent number: 5686556
Abstract: Process for producing .alpha.-amino .omega.-ester monoamides such as H.sub.2 N--(CH.sub.2).sub.6 --NH--CO--(CH.sub.2).sub.4 --CO--OCH.sub.3 by reacting a diacid with a diamide at a diamine/diester molar ratio of 0.8 and 1.2 is provided. Additionally, a novel process for producing a polyamide by homopolymerization of an .alpha.-amino .omega.-ester monoamide is provided.
