    Abstract: Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless technology transmits digital data as modulated coded impulses over a very wide frequency spectrum with very low power over a short distance. Accordingly, the inventors have established UWB devices which accommodate and adapt to inaccuracies, errors, or issues within the implemented electronics, hardware, firmware, and software. Beneficially, UWB receivers may accommodate offsets in absolute frequency between their frequency source and the transmitter, accommodate drift arising from phase locked loop and/or from relative clock frequency offsets of the remote transmitter and local receiver. UWB devices may also employ modulation coding schemes offering increased efficiency with respect to power, data bits per pulse transmitted, and enabled operation at higher output power whilst complying with regulatory emission requirements.

    Abstract: There is provided a method and system for providing a recommendation for a given problem by using a set of supervised machine learning (ML) models online by performing dynamic model evaluation and selection. An optional knowledge capture phase may be used to train the set of ML models offline using passive and/or active learning. Upon detection of a suitable initialization condition, the set of ML models is provided for inference and a feature vector is obtained. A set of predictions associated with accuracy metrics is generated by the set of models based on the feature vector. The accuracy metric may be global or class-specific. A recommendation is provided based on at least one of the set of predictions. The recommendation may be provided by selecting a best model, or by performing a vote weighted by the accuracy metrics. The set of ML models is retrained after obtaining an actual prediction.

When a user inputted prefix is received, a range of unique identifiers corresponding to words respectively having a prefix that matches the user inputted prefix are identified. Typically, the range of unique identifiers corresponds to substantially all of the words that begin with the given prefix and does not correspond to words that do not begin with the given prefix. The unique identifiers may then be compared to a probability database to identify which words have a higher probability of being selected by the user.

    Abstract: A coin roll dispenser has a number of coin magazines each filled with rolls of coins of a given denomination and removably seated within a housing. Each magazine has a motorized conveyor adapted to receive and sequentially dispense individual coin rolls through a discharge aperture into a discharge passage which transports the coin rolls dispensed from the magazines to a receptacle from which they may be removed by a purchaser. Dispensing is controlled by activating the conveyor in selected magazines. A first sensor detects the coin rolls as they are dispensed from the magazines and a sensor in advance of the receptacle produces a total count which is compared with the total ordered and the total from the first sensor.
