  • Patent number: 5718568
Abstract: A drive shaft for at least a rotating roller wherein the external portion of said drive shaft has surfaces treated by projection of particles to impart to it a controlled roughness designed to enable slip-free non-gear-like tooth drive of the roller by the shaft.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 1996
Date of Patent: February 17, 1998
    Assignee: Debiotech S.A.
    Inventors: Frederic Neftel, Bernard Bouvier
  • Patent number: 5655897
Abstract: A peristaltic pump cassette (1) is designed to cooperate in use with a motor unit (2) through a drive spindle (30) comprising a casing (40) with a tube bearing surface (12), a deformable tube (11), rotating rollers (14) driven by friction by the drive spindle (30). The deformable tube (11) is applied onto the support surface (12) and is deformed by rotating rollers (14), in order to produce driving of a liquid contained therein. Before first use, the radial position of rollers (14) is such that the tube (11) is not closed. During first use, they are moved radially by inserting the drive spindle (30), thus closing the tube (11). After use, rollers (14) remain in the radial position that keeps the tube (11) closed.

  • Patent number: 5518378
Abstract: A peristaltic pump comprising a motor body (4), a cassette (1) with a casing (31) wherein are provided rotary rollers driven by a driving shaft (10) of the motor body (4) and which compress a deformable tube (25). The cassette further includes an error-preventing assembly having a platen (2) capable of taking either an active position where the driving shaft (10) actuates the rotary rollers (15) or a rest position where the rollers are fixed, and at east one finger (23) arranged on the lower part (14) of the cassette (1), the finger being capable of passing the platen (2) from the rest position to the active position.

  • Patent number: 5480386
Abstract: A portable pump assembly for medical uses, and more particularly a portable micropump designed for the parenteral administration of medicamentous solutions includes a first module (2) provided with a container (8) designed for cooperating with a second motor module (4), the functioning of the pump being ensured by the assembling of the two modules. The first module (2) is provided with a removable filtering and sterilizing device (3), fastened to the filling septum orifice (10) of the container and including a filtering sterile plug (25) and a needle (28) surrounded by a flexible sleeve (29). A support arm (33) includes a guiding part (34) for guiding the device (3) when piercing the septurn and an anchoring casing (40) closing the housing (39) for the second module (4). The first module (2) with the device (3) is provided in a sterile sealed pouch. The assembly is very easy to use, and aseptic conditions are guaranteed during the filling of the container (8).

  • Patent number: 5337747
Abstract: An implantable device which comprises two measurement chambers each of which comprises an internal measurement chamber insulated from its surroundings by a glucose-hemipermeable membrane for the first measurement chamber, and by a glucose-permeable membrane which is impermeable to molecules larger than glucose for the second measurement chamber, connected to a pressure sensor for each of the measurement chambers, and linked to an electronic system provided for informing the environment outside the organism of the value of the pressure measured in each of the two measurement chambers and, therefore, of the glucose level.
