  • Publication number: 20220030989
Abstract: Protective devices have first and second members and an integral hinge joining the members together. The first and second members have external pockets along an outside surface that accommodate placement of a user's fingers therein from the same hand. The first and second members include opposed inside surfaces that are opposite the respective outside surfaces. The device is opened by the user moving their thumb and fingers in the pockets away from each other to move the inside surfaces outwardly to accept an object or surface. The device inside surfaces and inside surface of the hinge is the only surface contacting the object or surface during use. The device is closed by the user moving their thumb and fingers toward each other, causing the inside surfaces to move toward each other. An attachment mechanism us used to keep the inside surfaces contained to avoid unwanted cross-contamination during storage and/or transport.

  • Publication number: 20090246086
Abstract: A microfluidic network comprising a plurality of droplet emitters forming droplets of a first fluid in a second fluid immiscible in the first fluid to produce an outlet stream of droplets, wherein each of the emitters are in fluid communication with each other via the network and all have an auto-synchronised droplet formation frequency by hydrodynamic interaction between the emitters is provided. • Publication number: 20070178470
Abstract: This present invention relates methods for detecting the presence of nucleic acids in a sample. In these methods, neutral capture probes are exposed to a sample possibly containing complementary nucleic acid targets. The foregoing mixture is submitted to conditions that provide for the nucleic acid targets to bind with the neutral probes thereby generating hybrids. These hybrids are submitted to positively charged reporters such as atoms, molecules or macromolecules, which electrostatically bind to the hybrids. The complexes formed between reporters and hybrids are detected by a variety of detection methods. Kits for detecting the presence of nucleic acids in a sample are also disclosed herein.
