  • Patent number: 11952581
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of polyunsaturated fatty acids in an organism by introducing, into the organism, nucleic acids which encode polypeptides with ?5-elongase activity. Advantageously, these nucleic acids can be expressed in the organism together with further nucleic acids which encode polypeptides of the biosynthesis of the fatty acid or lipid metabolism. Especially advantageous are nucleic acids which encode ?6-desaturases, ?5-desaturases, ?4-desaturases and/or ?6-elongases. These desaturases and elongases are advantageously derived from Thalassiosira, Euglena or Ostreococcus. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the production of oils and/or triacylglycerides with an elevated content of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, and oils and/or triacylglycerides thus obtained.

  • Publication number: 20220233673
Abstract: A method of producing a monomer of a Shiga toxin B-subunit (STxB) protein or of a variant thereof by peptide chemical synthesis, as well as to a method of producing a pentamer of the STxB protein or of the variant thereof. The methods are particularly advantageous as they overcome major issues typically observed in peptide chemical synthesis, including solubility and purity issues.

  • Patent number: 9221520
Abstract: A module for making a modular ferry and/or a floating bridge including a floatation tank, where the floatation tank is made in the form of two floatation half-tanks hinged together around a hinged line between an opening position in which the two half-tanks are substantially aligned and form the floatation tank, and a closing position in which a half-tank is folded back upon the other half-tank such as a lid thus forming a container box able to enclose all or part of the elements for making the ferry or floating bridge.

  • Publication number: 20110152252
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a Shiga toxin B-subunit moiety as carrier for therapeutic agents, for example, anti-cancer agents such as anti-cancer agents that require intracellular uptake to exert their anti-cancer effects. In particular, the present invention provides conjugates comprising a Shiga toxin moiety covalently linked to an anti-cancer agent through a self-immolative spacer, and methods of using such conjugates to increase cellular uptake and/or specificity for cancer cells of the anti-cancer drug. Also provided are methods of treatment involving administration of such conjugates, and pharmaceutical compositions and kits useful for carrying out such methods of treatment.

  • Publication number: 20050009759
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds having the following formula (I), in which: Ra represents a sugar moiety, an arylamino group, or an alkyl group comprising at least one amino group, Rb represents an halogen atom, an halogenoalkyl group, a nitro group, or a group —NR(COR?) in which R and R?, independently from each other, represent an alkyl group, R1 represents H, or a protecting group for COOH group, R2, R3, and R4, independently from each other, represent H, or a protecting group for OH group. The invention also relates to the use of such compounds in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of cancers.
