  • Patent number: 10783314
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a structured transcription from a speech file. In an example embodiment, a structured transcription system receives a speech file comprising speech from one or more people and generates a navigable structured transcription object. The navigable structured transcription object may comprise one or more data structures representing multimedia content with which a user may navigate and interact via a user interface. Text and/or speech relating to the speech file can be selectively presented to the user (e.g., the text can be presented via a display, and the speech can be aurally presented via a speaker).

  • Patent number: 10657200
Abstract: Techniques for guiding an interaction with an electronic form via a computing device are described. For example, a form guidance engine is initiated. The form guidance engine maintains a state of the electronic form. The form guidance engine also maintains user information in, for example, a user profile. The user information is associated with a user of the computing device and relates to how the user interacts with the electronic form. Based on the user information, the form guidance engine anticipates a potential interaction with the electronic form given the state. Accordingly and prior to a user request for information about the electronic form, the form guidance engine generates a presentation configured to guide the user to perform the potential interaction with the electronic form via a computing device. A user response to the presentation is received. The form guidance engine performs an action associated with the electronic form and updates the state of the electronic form.

  • Patent number: 10614266
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for identifying and populating static form fields using prior responses to similar form fields. An example method includes receiving an electronic form having, encoded in the form, static text and a static form field for containing information specific to a given user of the electronic form. Using an image recognition algorithm, a fillable form field candidate is identified based on a graphical representation of the static form field. An attribute of the fillable form field candidate can be identified based on the static text. A suggested response for populating the fillable form field candidate is selected from prior responses to other form fields having at least one attribute in common with the identified attribute of the fillable form field candidate. The prior responses are inputs obtained from or associated with the given user. The suggested response is presented to the user for subsequent acceptance or rejection.

  • Patent number: 10460024
Abstract: Techniques for assisting users electronic forms. One exemplary technique involves initiating a workflow assistant based on user input of the user or a predetermined triggering event to prompt the user to complete the electronic form. The workflow assistant downloads or obtains the electronic form based on a user response and identifies a workflow based on the electronic form. The workflow identifies a sequence of user interactions to complete the electronic form. Identifying the workflow includes developing, based on fields in the electronic form, requests for content of fields from the user and possible predicted answer choices for the content of each of the fields. The workflow assistant then executes the workflow to conduct the user interactions to obtain the content for the fields of the electronic form to complete the electronic form.

  • Patent number: 10445419
Abstract: Techniques for assisting a user with completing an electronic form via a computing device are described. For example, the user operates the computing device to populate fields of the electronic form. Rather than presenting the electronic form at the computing device in order to populate the fields, a form filling engine reformulates the electronic form into a set of input requests. The form filling engine is local or remote to the computing device. Each input request, when presented, provides guidance about at least one field and solicit a user response that is proper for that field. The form filling engine presents the input requests via the computing device one at a time to solicit the user responses. Data from the user responses are used by the form filling engine to populate the fields of the electronic form.

  • Patent number: 10365780
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for making an electronic document easier to use based on prior interactions with the same or a similar document by other users. An electronic document is presented to one or more users in an interactive environment. Interactions between the users and the document can be recorded as usage data. The usage data may represent one or more operations performed on the electronic document by the users. Based on the usage data, an enhanced user interaction feature associated with the document is configured. The electronic document and the enhanced user interaction feature are then presented to another user in another interactive environment. The enhanced user interaction feature makes using the document easier than it would be if the feature was not present, particularly for users who are unfamiliar with the document.

  • Patent number: 10332262
Abstract: Computerized methods and systems remove background information from digitally encoded images. A digitally encoded image is retrieved and converted to greyscale if it is encoded as a color image. The greyscale image is divided into a first set of subsections. The first set of subsections is processed to individually remove any background portions from each subsection of the first set of subsections. The greyscale image may also be divided into a second set of subsections and the second set of subsections is processed to individually remove any background portions from each subsection of the second set of subsections containing contours. The first set of subsections and second set of subsections may be merged to create a new version of the image, and the new version of the image is stored to digital storage.

  • Patent number: 10095802
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein provide form search results in response to form-specific search criteria. One embodiment involves receiving, at an electronic form search server, input providing form-specific search criteria comprising one or more field characteristics. The embodiment further involves identifying, by the electronic form search server, one or more forms as search results based on form-specific search criteria. • Patent number: 10091003
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for efficiently obtaining biometric signatures for electronically signing digital documents. A digital document having a signature field is provided for display on a general computing device. An instruction to obtain a biometric signature from a mobile computing device is received on the general computing device. A remote signing request is sent to a remote server device. The request can include, among other things, an electronic contact address associated with the mobile computing device. Responsive to receiving the request, a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) is generated, referencing a dynamic application for obtaining the biometric signature on the mobile computing device. The remote server device obtains the biometric signature via the dynamic application or an incoming electronic message from the mobile computing device via the electronic contact address.

  • Patent number: 10083163
Abstract: The present disclosure includes methods and systems for completing fields in an electronic document utilizing drawing input. In particular, upon receiving drawing input in an electronic document with a plurality of fields, one or more embodiments of the disclosed systems and methods automatically identify an appropriate field corresponding to the drawing input. For instance, the disclosed systems and methods can assign drawing input to an appropriate field based on a number of drawing units located within the boundary of each field in the plurality of fields. Moreover, upon identifying the appropriate field corresponding to the drawing input, the disclosed systems and methods can automatically modify the drawing input to fit within a boundary of the identified field.

  • Patent number: 10013411
Abstract: In some embodiments, a document management application determines that a field of a document lacks a tag describing the field. The document management application also determines that data entered into the field of the document corresponds to a value of a field description included in a user profile. The document management application tags or otherwise associates the field with the field description based on the entered data corresponding to the value of the field description.

  • Patent number: 9741133
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to identifying shapes in an image. For example, a shape identification system may identify an unknown shape represented by a Bézier path that has at least one Bézier curve. The shape identification system may also identify a stored Bézier path that has at least one stored Bézier curve, for example, in a database of known shapes. Using the Bézier curve of the unknown shape and the stored Bézier curve of the known shape, the shape identification system can determine a transformation matrix that transforms the transforms the Bézier curve of unknown shape to the stored Bézier curve of the known shape. Then, the shape identification system can compare the transformed Bézier curve to the stored Bézier curve to determine whether the unknown shape matches the known shape.
