Patent number: 9325839Abstract: A system and method of authenticating a calling party to a remote service, including receiving a request via a communications network to approve a future call to the remote service using a calling identifier associated with the calling party, recording an approval of the future call subject to the future call being made within a predetermined period of time, the remote service receiving a call at a point in time using a calling identifier, determining if a call at that point in time using the received calling identifier is recorded as approved by the authentication system, and, if so, the remote service accepting the call and using the approval of the authentication system to authenticate the calling party.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2012Date of Patent: April 26, 2016Assignee: Emue Holdings Pty Ltd.Inventors: Jason Frederick Bender, James Evan Lenon, Brendan Thomas McKeegan

Publication number: 20140223185Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of verifying that an action is authorised by a user, including receiving a request from a first user device to a remote service via a first communications channel to perform an action at the remote service, receiving a user identifier from the first user device via the first communications channel, the user identifier identifying the user, associating the user identifier with data relating to the requested action, communicating the data to a second user device associated with the same user identifier via a second communications channel, receiving a user verification code associated with the user identifier, and determining if the user verification code includes the data, which is digitally signed using a code generation algorithm based on at least a key associated with the user identifier, the digitally signed data verifying that the action is authorised by the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2012Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: Emue Holdings Pty Ltd.Inventors: Jason Frederick Bender, James Evan Lenon

Publication number: 20120260324Abstract: A method of validating an identifier is disclosed. In one embodiment an authenticating party system receives an identifier for validation and determines a first validation code associated with a current value of a counter. The first validation code is compared with the received identifier and, in the event that the identifier does not match the first validation code, the authenticating party system compares the identifier with one or more further validation codes associated with respective other values for the counter, said respective other values comprising N consecutive counter values succeeding the current value of the counter. If the identifier matches one of the further validation codes associated with a respective other value for the counter, the current value of the counter is updated to correspond with the respective other value for the counter associated with the matching further validation code.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2010Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: EMUE HOLDINGS PTY LTD.Inventors: James Evan Lenon, Jason Frederick Bender

Publication number: 20120131655Abstract: An authentication device (100) for use with electronic security devices and user authentication systems is disclosed. The authentication device includes a data store (104) for storing plural secret keys, each secret key associated with a corresponding service, a service selection means (101) for selecting a service from the corresponding services, an authentication code generator (102) for generating, from the secret key associated with the selected service, a one time usable authentication code for communication to an authentication controller associated with the selected service, and an output (106) for outputting the generated authentication code for communication to the authentication controller. A method of authentication a user to a service is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2010Publication date: May 24, 2012Applicant: EMUE HOLDINGS PTY LTD.Inventors: Jason Frederick Bender, James Evan Lenon, Simon Charles Hughes Hewitt

Patent number: 8151364Abstract: A method of authenticating a remote service (104) to a user (102) via a communications network (106) is disclosed. The remote service (104) obtains a service authentication code that has been generated, using a code generation algorithm, based on a first secret key. The service authentication code is communicated to the user (102) via the communications network (106) and received, or entered, into an authentication device (106) associated with the user (102). The authentication device (106) then generates, using the same code generation algorithm, an expected code value based on a second secret key and compares the expected code value to the service authentication code. Responsive to the comparison, and in the event that the expected code value correlates with the service authentication code, the authentication device (106) generates a response that indicates to the user (102) the authenticity of the remote service (104).Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: eMue Holdings Pty LtdInventors: Simon Charles Hughes Hewitt, Jason Frederick Bender, James Evan Lenon

Patent number: 7302843Abstract: A housing structure for improving air flow to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine is claimed. The present invention is a replacement part for a factory-installed mass air flow sensor housing and is designed to allow for larger air flow through the housing through the use of a bypass air passage or calibration tube that reduces air flow as experienced by the mass air flow sensor. The calibration tube reduces air flow across the sensor with a larger bore on its inlet and a restriction in its outlet. The calibration tube is angled to reduce back flow from the engine.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2005Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: C & L Performance, Inc.Inventor: Lee Frederick Bender

Patent number: 7229514Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a curved hose. The method is comprised of the steps of (a) forming a hose assembly, the hose assembly comprising: (i) an innermost layer of a halogenated polyolefin rubber; (ii) a polyester reinforcement overlaying the innermost layer, the reinforcement having disposed on its surface an RFL adhesive comprising a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber; and (iii) an elastomeric cover overlaying the braided reinforcement; (b) cutting the hose assembly into hose lengths; (c) shaping the hose lengths into predetermined curved hose shapes; and (d) curing the curved hose shapes.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2004Date of Patent: June 12, 2007Assignee: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber CompanyInventors: Peter Donald Mason, Charles Frederick Bender, Tony John Kotsos, Richard Vitai Huynh, Arthur Joseph Culham

Patent number: 6990941Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for intake air plenum construction for an automobile's internal combustion engine is claimed. The intake air plenum consists of an air inlet flange connected through a chamber to an air outlet flange. The intake air plenum improves upon conventional intake air plenums with a contoured interior chamber that eliminates restrictions and sharp turns. The method improves engine performance by optimizing air flow to the engine with an improved intake air plenum construction.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2004Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: C&L Performance, Inc.Inventor: Lee Frederick Bender

Patent number: 4787860Abstract: A plug and receptacle combination having a compact configuration includes a plug having a slot for receiving a raised key-like projection on the receptacle to effect a polarization function and a flush-mount latch co-aligned with the slot to resiliently engage an opening in the projection to releasably latch the plug into engagement with the receptacle. The receptacle is designed to be telescopically received within the end of the plug to provide a high degree of shielding integrity. The plug is assembled from upper and lower half-shells that retain a connection block containing contacts of a first type, and the receptacle is defined by inter-engaging inner and outer shells which retain a connection block containing contacts of a second type for inter-engaging the contacts of the first type. A resilient spring is provided on the receptacle on the side opposite the raised key-like projection to assist in maintaining the plug and receptacle in mechanical and electrical engagement with one another.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1987Date of Patent: November 29, 1988Assignee: E.
