    Abstract: A tamper evident container is provided having a pouring spout which includes a shoot surface pivotally attached to a wall of the container. The shoot extends beyond and overlays an opening in the container wall to securely maintain the opening in the wall closed. The shoot includes a tip used to open the spout. A tamper evident sealing label overlays the spout and tip. The label includes a frangible sheet having an adhesive portion for attaching the label to the container surface and an adhesive free portion along a portion of an edge of a label. A tear line is provided across the label dividing the label into a first portion which includes the adhesive free portion and a second portion. The first portion overlays the tip of the spout and the second portion overlays the remaining portion of the spout.

    Abstract: A machine for inserting pouring spouts in caps, provides for feeding the caps to an indexing work table through an inlet apparatus which coordinates the position of the caps with the position of the indexing table. Mounting apparatus is provided to mount the caps on the indexing work table, which table moves the caps in a coordinated sequence to work positions where the pouring spouts are inserted in the caps. The indexing work table then moves the caps to an outlet position where ejecting apparatus removes the caps with the inserted spouts from the indexing work table, the pouring spouts on the caps are placed in the desired position and the caps are properly oriented as the caps leave the area of the spout inserting machine. A pneumatic assembly provides for the delivery of the container tops to the indexing table and for transfer of the container tops with the inserted spouts away from the indexing work table.

    Abstract: A machine for inserting a pouring spout at a precise, predetermined position on a canister wall, which machine consists of a first holding means that releasably holds a canister on a carriage that moves in a discontinuous manner through a series of work stations. At one of the work stations, the canister is temporarily released by the first holding means and captured by second holding means associated with a turntable that is rotatably positioned by means responsive to a control signal generated from scanning means at the work station, which sense the position of an indexing mark on the canister. After the turntable and the canister are positioned, the canister is released by the second holding means and carried by an elevator back to the carriage where the canister is held in the indexed position by the first holding means and continues through the remainder of the work stations.
