  • Patent number: 8590589
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved vacuum drum for handling labels in labelling machines to be used for labelling containers such as bottles. In particular, the present invention relates to a vacuum drum system (1) for labelling machines, comprising a vacuum drum (2) rotatably supported on a non-rotating base (12), a feeding and cutting group (4) for the labels and a gluing group (5) having a gluing drum for the label, characterized in that it comprises a suction system (3) for withdrawing hot glue filaments originating from the glued label assisted by air jets emitted from the drum surface, the said suction system (3) being positioned adjacent to and downstream the gluing drum of the said gluing group (5), along the direction of rotation of the said vacuum drum (2). A method of operating the said system is also claimed.

  • Patent number: 8042271
Abstract: An aspirating roller (1) for transferring labels, comprising at least a pair of pads (20;21) projecting relative to a lateral surface (1a) of the roller (1). The roller (1) is characterised in that at least a portion of the lateral surface (1a) of the roller (1) present between the pads (20;21) is elastically deformable. A method for removing/mounting an elastically deformable plate-like element (6), of the type present between a pair of pads (20;21) and defining a lateral surface (1a) of a roller (1) for transferring labels.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20060283115
Abstract: A cornerbead for installation at a drywall outside corner, the cornerbead includes a substrate forming a nose and first and second elongated flanges. A first strip of perforated tape is adhered to the first flange at its exterior surface. The first strip of tape extends longitudinally of the first flange and a portion of the first strip of tape extends past the outer edge of the first flange. A second strip of perforated tape is adhered to the first elongated flange at its interior surface. The second strip of tape extends longitudinally of the first flange. The first strip has a coating of adhesive material on a side that faces towards the first flange and the second strip has a coating of adhesive material on a side that faces away from the first flange.

  • Patent number: 6025803
Abstract: The low profile antenna assembly comprises a generally rectangular frame member housing a planar antenna. A radar absorbing material is attached to the front side of the housing with a radome covering the front side of the planar antenna and attached to the frame member. The planar antenna is a microstrip array fed by a beam forming network that uses either delay lines or phase shifters to electronically steer the antenna pattern horizontally and vertically. The antenna assembly is weatherproofed, painted and flush mounted against a building surface for camouflaging the antenna assembly from observers at a distance.
