  • Patent number: 5590880
Abstract: A card holder in the form of a shell or shield has juxtaposed layers forming a slot or pocket into which a number of playing cards are inserted. The pocket is made of relatively stiff plastic that resiliently resists flexure whereby a yielding friction grip is imposed upon the set of playing cards. The shell or shield has sides and an overhanging top together effectively shielding the cards from all but frontal view. In the preferred form of the present invention, a bar is placed behind the tops of the cards to flex them away from the back of the holder so that the tops of the cards are easily accessible for grasp.

  • Patent number: 4503323
Abstract: The punch card is designed to provide a readable hole that is offset from, but intersects the window area of the reader. The punch hole plug is preformed by a pair of arcuate cuts held together by tabs at opposite sides. A small pilot hole at the center of the plug receives the narrow shank of a stylus. A shoulder above the stylus shank engages about the pilot hole and pushes the plug into a recess, tearing the two tabs away. The pilot hole is offset from the read window.

  • Patent number: 4353555
Abstract: A computer system for duplicate bridge scoring utilizes a compact data card to remain attached to a duplicate board during the session of play. The card is arranged for encoding of data round-by-round rather than by player line. The computer unscrambles the pair numbers by formula or reference, the variable number of tables for each of the sections being communicated to the computer after the session starts. The data card is made sufficiently compact by the aid of the round-by-round array; by unique type style and arrangement; by utilizing machine language for the bridge score. The machine language is arranged to comport with standard readers having twelve read heads on quarter inch centers. Unique holders for the data cards utilize concealer tabs that at all times during the play session remain with the duplicate board.
