  • Patent number: 7202734
Abstract: A circuit and method for electronically tuning an RF power amplifier. The output filter includes at least one electronically variable reactance. The electronically tuned power amplifier may be tuned rapidly to a selected frequency, to a selected impedance, or to produce a selected output amplitude. An optional controller translates frequency, impedance, or modulation inputs into tuning signals. High-efficiency, wideband amplitude modulation is produced by varying the amplifier load impedance along preferred loci.

  • Patent number: 7112635
Abstract: Non-gelled polymeric polyols are prepared by the acid catalyzed copolymerization of water, tetrahydrofuran and multifunctional epoxy resins. The polyols can be cured with OH reactive crosslinkers such as amino resins and polyisocyanates to yield thermosetting coatings with useful properties.

  • Patent number: 6800717
Abstract: Non-gelled polymeric polyols are prepared by the acid catalyzed copolymerization of epoxy resins and water. When the starting resin is an epoxy resin derived from bisphenol-A, the resulting product has much lower levels of bisphenol-A and diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) compared to traditional epoxy resins of comparable molecular weight prepared by the advancement process. The product can be cured with OH reactive crosslinkers such as amino resins and polyisocyanates to yield thermosetting coatings with useful properties.

  • Patent number: 6777088
Abstract: A multilayer packaging material comprising (a) at least one layer of a gas-permeable material, and (b) at least one layer of a gas-barrier coating comprising a polymeric polyol made by copolymerizing a multifunctional epoxide resin and water in the presence of an amount of acid effective for polymerizing the epoxide resin and the water, the amount of water being sufficient to avoid gelation, the polymeric polyol optionally reacted with a crosslinking agent for hydroxyl functionality, especially an amino resin.

  • Patent number: 6753386
Abstract: The present invention relates to a film forming composition, a method of forming the composition, and application of the composition to coating formulations which provide a cured coating having acid rain resistance. A film-forming polyurethane polyol composition comprises a reaction product of an n-functional isocyanate (wherein n is a number ranging from about 2 to about 5) with at least one diol or triol or mixtures thereof and a compound containing isocyanate-reactive functional groups, preferably a monofunctional alcohol or thiol. The low viscosity polyurethane polyol of the present invention is typically crosslinked/cured using a melamine to produce a cured coating which is highly acid etch resistant as well as having other desirable physical-mechanical properties. The coating compositions have improved flow characteristics compared to compositions containing polyurethane polyols prepared without the monofunctional alcohols or thiols.

  • Patent number: 6552634
Abstract: A method and a circuit for power amplification over a wide frequency range based upon the use of minimum-rating filters or matching networks, negative-component signal processing, and single or multiple amplifiers. The filters and matching networks are preferably designed to minimize the required ratings of the amplifier(s) driving them. The signal processor or generator preferably uses negative components to produces a driving signal that is compensated for the ripple in the filter, matching network, and load. The outputs of multiple amplifiers optimized for different frequency ranges can be combined into a single load with flat frequency response, resistive loads presented to the amplifiers, and no inherent power loss in the combining network.
