  • Patent number: 3981895
Abstract: Novel derivatives of maleinized fatty acids are disclosed. The derivatives comprise mono-esters of both a selected type of diol and an alkylene oxide, they contain free carboxyl and hydroxyl groups and have acid values of 40-100 mg KOH per g. They are useful film-forming components of high-solids coating compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 1974
Date of Patent: September 21, 1976
    Assignee: Dulux Australia Ltd.
Inventors: Bruce Leary, Frederick John Lubbock
  • Patent number: 3956210
Abstract: Novel thermosetting coating compositions which comprise a blend of1. a derivative of an autoxidizable maleinized monocarboxylic fatty acid comprising a mono-ester of a diol and a mono-ester of an alkylene oxide, and2. a cross-linking agent for the said derivative in the weight ratio of from 70:30 to 95:5 of (1) to (2).Such coating compositions have high solids contents at normal application viscosities.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 1974
Date of Patent: May 11, 1976
    Assignee: Dulux Australia Ltd.
Inventors: Bruce Leary, Frederick John Lubbock
  • Patent number: 3933579
