Abstract: A method and system for creating a virtual publication for use with a flip page application, the virtual publication comprising an image file of each page of the virtual publication to be displayed by the flip page application, a SWF file of each page of the virtual publication to be used by the flip page application to provide a zoom functionality, a text file of each page of the virtual publication to be associated with each image file by the flip page application in order to provide a search functionality, an XML file of each page of the virtual publication indicating coordinates and links of multimedia elements to be used by the flip page application to provide clickable zones and an index file listing of all image and SWF files composing the virtual publication for indicating to the flip page application which files to use.
