  • Publication number: 20230366337
Abstract: An exhaust device includes a casing including an inlet configured to receive an exhaust gas, an outlet configured to discharge the exhaust gas, and a chamber disposed therein between the inlet and the outlet. The casing defines a longitudinal axis along its length. The exhaust device further includes an exhaust conduit at least partially received within the chamber of the casing along the longitudinal axis. The exhaust conduit includes an inner surface, an opposing outer surface, a plurality of perforations extending through the exhaust conduit from the inner surface to the outer surface, and at least one protrusion extending outwardly from the outer surface. The exhaust device further includes an absorptive material disposed on the outer surface of the exhaust conduit. The at least one protrusion of the exhaust conduit engages with the absorptive material in order to form an interference fit between the absorptive material and the exhaust conduit.

  • Patent number: 11725567
Abstract: A vehicle exhaust system for allowing passage of exhaust gasses therethrough. The vehicle exhaust system has a first pipe having a first end and a second end. The first end defines an exhaust gas inlet and the second end defines an exhaust gas outlet. The vehicle exhaust system also has a second pipe positioned downstream of the first pipe and has a third end and a fourth end. At least a portion of the second end of first pipe is positioned within the third end of the second pipe defining an overlap between the second end of the first pipe and the third end of the second pipe. The first pipe and the second pipe together define a volume for the exhaust gasses. The volume comprises a first volume passageway between the exhaust gas inlet and the exhaust gas outlet and a second volume passageway defined by the overlap of the second pipe and the first pipe and having an inlet for exhaust gasses into the second volume passageway and an outlet from the second volume passageway positioned axially upstream of inlet.

  • Patent number: 11187135
Abstract: A vehicle exhaust system includes a tubular component which allow passage of exhaust gases therethrough. The tubular component includes an upstream pipe having a first end and a second end. The tubular component further includes a downstream pipe having a third end and a fourth end. The third end of the downstream pipe at least partially encloses the second end of the upstream pipe such that the upstream pipe and the downstream pipe together define a junction region and the fourth end defines a primary exhaust gas flow path. • Patent number: 10439683
Abstract: Systems and methods for relaying in broadcast single-frequency networks are disclosed herein. A single-frequency network can be formed in part using transmitters that receive data via a cooperative relay channel instead of a studio-to-transmitter link. In some embodiments, transmitter may use a portion of its transmission time to relay in-band information to the single-frequency network transmitter using time-division multiplexing.

  • Patent number: 9689301
Abstract: A muffler includes a shell, baffles, and a plurality of pipes. The shell defines first and second end cavities and a central cavity. The end cavities have larger cross-sectional areas that a cross-sectional area of the central cavity. The baffles cooperate to form multiple chambers within the shell. A first inlet directs a first portion of the exhaust into a first chamber. A second inlet directs a second portion of the exhaust into a second chamber. A first pipe extends through first, third and fourth baffles and includes an inlet in the fourth chamber. The first pipe directs exhaust from the fourth chamber to a first outlet at the first end cavity. A second pipe extends through the second, third and fourth baffles and includes an inlet in the third chamber. The second pipe directs exhaust from the third chamber to a second outlet at the second end cavity.

  • Patent number: 8509678
Abstract: Embodiments include methods and systems for activating display of content items on a mobile device based on event criteria associated with a profile of a user. For example, one embodiment comprises a method of activating reception of multimedia data on a mobile device. The method includes receiving metadata identified with at least a portion of one of plurality of broadcasts, determining, based on the metadata identified with the portion of broadcast content, whether the portion contains event metadata satisfying event criteria associated with a profile of a user, and instructing a receiver of a mobile device of the user to tune to the broadcast for receipt of the portion of the broadcast.

  • Patent number: 8289846
Abstract: Methods and systems generate a multiplex signal including two or more different sub-multiplexes for transmission via a broadcast network. A first sub-multiplex may include several services for broadcast in multiple locations, while multiple second sub-multiplexes may include services for broadcast within particular locations. A statistical multiplexer generates the first sub-multiplex within a first bandwidth allocation. If the first sub-multiplex services cannot fit within the allocated bandwidth, the bandwidth allocation may be adjusted. The statistical multiplexer may generate a second sub-multiplex within a second bandwidth allocation. If the second sub-multiplex services do not fit within the allocated bandwidth, the bandwidth allocation may be adjusted to increase the bandwidth allocated to the second sub-multiplex and decrease the bandwidth allocated to the first sub-multiplex so that the total bandwidth capacity of a broadcast network is not exceeded.
