Patent number: 11591855Abstract: A pool ladder may have a first and second leg extension, each having a generally continuous profile; a first tread may comprise first and second through-holes, the first through-hole being sized to slidingly receive the generally continuous profile of the first leg extension, and the second through-hole being sized to slidingly receive the generally continuous profile of the second leg extension; and a first and second tread support. The first tread support may be engaged at a tread location on the first leg extension and may be separate from the first leg extension. The second tread support may be engaged at a tread location on the second leg extension and may be separate from the second leg extension. Each of the first and second tread supports may protrude from the respective leg extension a sufficient amount to prevent the first and second through-holes from sliding past the tread locations.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2019Date of Patent: February 28, 2023Inventor: Frederick M. Patent number: 6308937Abstract: A railing system suitable for decks, stairs, porches and other structures uses a collar connector applied over the open end of a tabular rail for securing the rail to a support surface. The connector has an exterior collar into which the open end of a railing is inserted. The railing is also engaged on the interior of the railing by an inserted plug. The railing is trapped between the inserted plug and the collar whereby a tight connection is achieved. The gap between the inserted plug and the exterior collar narrows from the open end of the collar towards the base.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1999Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: GSW Inc.Inventor: Frederick M. Patent number: 4623126Abstract: A universal perimeter fence (16) for an above-ground pool. The perimeter fence consists of a plurality of three different assemblies which are fence post assemblies (18), rail assemblies (20) and mounting assemblies which include bottom post connectors (22) and top post connectors (24). The angles of the posts can be varied relative to the pools to accommodate for differing overhangs of top rails (14) and the rail assemblies are field cut the accommodate for differing spacings between the pool wall supports (12) as well as differing angles. Each of the post assemblies (18) include rail connectors (30) which have outwardly extending tubular portions (36), the inner and outer faces (80,76) being at differing angles to provide for differing diameter pools.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1983Date of Patent: November 18, 1986Inventor: Frederick M. Patent number: 4527297Abstract: A pool entrance and supporting structure which will both provide an entrance or exit from an above-ground pool and will also provide a support for both a skimmer and a return. The pool entrance and supporting structure (40) includes an entrance structure (42). The entrance structure includes a pair of spaced apart ladders (44, 46) and a platform (48) which extends between upper end portions of the ladders. The pool entrance and supporting structure (40) further includes skimmer support means (50) and return support means (52).By employing the novel pool entrance and supporting structure of this invention improved circulation is achieved within the pool reducing the need for vacuuming, chemicals, and filtering. In addition, the problems encountered with through wall skimmers and returns will be eliminated. Additionally, it will be easier to winterize the pool as the skimmer and return can readily be removed from the pool and stored in an area which will not subject the various components to freezing.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1983Date of Patent: July 9, 1985Inventor: Frederick M. Pettit

Patent number: 4474168Abstract: A swimming pool construction incorporating solar heating means to heat the pool water to a desired level. The pool includes a surrounding safety fence supported by a plurality of fence supports which are hollow and which include internal passageways. The pool water is passed through the pool support passageways whereupon it absorbs heat from the sidewalls of the fence supports, the surfaces of which have been heated by solar radiation. The fence supports can be made of plastic or other materials, but preferably are dark for improved absorptivity. The pool water can be passed serially through each of the fence supports and suitable thermostat control means can be provided to limit the water temperature increase.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1981Date of Patent: October 2, 1984Inventor: Frederick M.
