Abstract: An ear bud earphone having an outer portion, which may be a microphone or sound input or a contact for wires or acoustic tubes, a central body portion, an ear canal main body and a tab. The ear canal main body of the earphone has flexibility to conform to the ear anatomy. The ear (pinna) has a helix, an anti-helix, a concha including the anatomical elements of a cymba and a cavum, and an ear canal. The ear canal main body is partially inserted into the concha and ear canal opening, with the tab resting on or under the anti-helix.

Abstract: A headset clip assembly which includes a clip for attaching to a cloth material and a coupling mechanism for mating with a headset interface to couple the clip assembly to a headset.

Abstract: An earbud headset is provided that includes a speaker housing which advantageously allows for improved comfort, sound quality, and stability in the ear. The speaker housing includes a head portion and a thin edge portion that extends from the head portion to interface with a faceplate. The thin edge portion allows for acoustic coupling to deeper areas of the user's ear to provide better sound quality. A bias member is operably coupled to the speaker housing to contact an upper concha of the user's ear to provide bias forces for improved stability, sound quality, and universal fit.

Abstract: An electronic telephone set for use with a telephone headset receiver/transmitter apparatus is disclosed. The telephone set is line-powered, and is capable of transmit muting, last number re-dial, and memory dialing. The volume of the received voice signal is controllable by a user, and a visual indication of the volume setting is provided. The receiver and transmitter amplifiers includes circuitry for compensating for the frequency response characteristics of two or more headsets, the compensation circuitry being selectively and automatically engaged by means of a programmable connecting jack. The design of the telephone is such that it consumes very little power, especially during "on-hook" operation. Moreover, an electrical storage device is employed to provide continuous operational power to the dialer circuitry and electronic hook-switch control circuitry, so that the telephone set retains its dialing memory when not in use.
