  • Patent number: 10704252
Abstract: A method for lifting and supporting above ground a concrete slab foundation employing hydraulic jacks includes installing piers in the ground, each with a pier extension protruding above ground. A lifting assembly is placed over each pier extension, the lifting assembly having a lift sleeve and upward extending lifting members. Then the slab foundation is poured, bonding a portion of the lifting assembly in concrete. After the slab foundation hardens, a jack is positioned on top of the pier extension, and lifting arms of the jack engage the lifting members. The jack is actuated to exert an upward force on the lifting assembly to lift the slab foundation above the ground. Then, the lift sleeve is rigidly secured to the pier extension, allowing the jack and lifting arms to be removed.

  • Patent number: 10557246
Abstract: An assembly supports a concrete slab foundation above a ground surface while being poured and hardened. The assembly includes forms, each of the forms having a frame. Lower rollers are mounted to each of the frames for rolling each of the forms onto the ground surface. Upper rollers are mounted to each of the frames at an elevation above the lower rollers. Upper decks are placed on top of the upper rollers. Each of the upper decks has an upper surface configured to receive the concrete while being poured and hardened. The upper rollers of each of the forms are in rolling engagement with a lower side of one of the upper decks, enabling the forms to be rolled out from under the upper decks after the slab foundation has hardened.

  • Patent number: 10450715
Abstract: A technician positions a form with a threaded aperture on a pier. Concrete is poured around the form to create a slab foundation. A fixture is then placed on the slab foundation, the fixture having a polygonal anti-rotation member that inserts into a polygonal upper end of the form. The fixture has an upward extending fixture stop member. A threaded rod with a tool adapter on its upper end is screwed into the threaded aperture. The adapter has an adapter stop member extending laterally relative to the fixture stop member. A power tool rotates the adapter to lift the slab foundation until the adapter stop member swings into contact with the fixture stop member. The technician then removes the adapter, places the adapter stop member adjacent an opposite side of the fixture stop member, then again rotates the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20110116873
Abstract: A system for forming a movable slab foundation has a slab foundation, a support pier, and a housing positioned within the support pier. A support sleeve is positioned within and is substantially surrounded by the housing. Portions of the support sleeve are encased within the slab foundation. The support sleeve is capable of axial movement relative to the housing. A guide plate is connected to the lower end of the support sleeve. A cavity is defined by the space between the guide plate and the lower end of the housing. A port is located in and extends through the guide plate and into the cavity. The slab foundation, the support sleeve, and the guide plate are raised to a desired height relative to the housing. The cavity is filled with support media through the port to secure the position of the slab foundation, the support sleeve, and the guide plate.

  • Patent number: 6722820
Abstract: A method for securing piling segments together to form a single foundation piling using an alignment securing assembly and vibrations sent through the piling as. Piling segments are driven into the ground on top of each other, forming a piling. A single piling passageway is formed when the piling segments are in alignment. An alignment securing assembly is placed in the passageway. Vibrations are sent through the piling so that grout will not gather in the upper portions of the passageway before the lower portions of the passageway are filled with grout. The grout cures and the piling segments are secured so that the segments will not slip. The alignment securing assembly uses an anchoring device that is lowered and set in the passageway so that tension can be applied by a cable. The tension from the cable and anchoring device causing a compressive effect on the piling.

  • Patent number: 6718707
Abstract: An assembly for compressing a foundation piling prevents individual piling segments from sliding out of alignment. The assembly is an anchoring device that is lowered into a passageway running through a concrete or steel foundation piling to a desired depth. The anchoring device is suspended to a cable and has a center section and at least one moveable wing or wedge attached to the center section. Then a weight is dropped onto the anchoring device. The force of the impact causes the wings on the anchoring device to slide down and extend away from the center section. The force of the impact also forces the wings to grip the piling because the anchoring assembly is wider than the passageway when the wings slide down the center section. Tension is applied to the cable, which is now secured to the piling by the anchoring device. The tension in the cable creates a compressive state on the piling which prevents the individual segments from sliding out of alignment.
