    Abstract: A guard for protecting wildlife is mounted on an outboard motor having a propeller and keel below an anti-ventilation plate. The guard has a spaced pair of bars each with an upper section, a lower section and between them a midsection. The upper sections of the bars can be attached to opposite sides of the anti-ventilation plate in order to position the lower sections below the propeller and keel. The lower sections have a smooth, projection-free streamline for avoiding snagging on sea weed.
