    Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine is provided with an improved stator assembly which permits a stator lamination sector to be directly placed at any desired location on the keybar dovetail which supports such sector. The keybar exhibits a unique dovetail geometry and the corresponding dovetail slot in the peripheral edge of the sector exhibits a complementary unique geometry. In this manner, the dovetail slot of the sector is mated with the keybar dovetail at any desired location on the keybar by rotating the sector onto the keybar dovetail.
