  • Publication number: 20240035643
Abstract: A lighting module includes a heat sink with a sidewall and a partition defining two cavities, a LED light source disposed in one cavity to emit light, a driver module disposed in the other cavity with driver circuitry to provide electrical power to the light source, and an optical assembly to provide a desired emission profile. The optical assembly is field-changeable and includes a cover lens with snap-fit connectors to facilitate removal and replacement. The optical assembly further includes either a reflector coupled to the cover lens or an optical lens coupled to the heat sink via an optic holder. In some examples, the driver circuitry facilitates dimming of the light source. The heat sink also dissipates heat generated by the light source and the driver circuitry to maintain desired operating temperatures and thereby facilitate increased light output.

  • Patent number: 11231154
Abstract: A bar hanger assembly is used to couple a housing to a support structure. The bar hanger assembly may include a bar hanger holder to mechanically couple the bar hanger assembly to the housing, such as a junction box, a can housing, or a frame. The bar hanger holder may define a channel to mechanically guide and support a pair of bar hangers. The bar hangers may be mechanically coupled together in a telescoping manner such that the first bar hanger is slidably adjustable with respect to the second bar hanger. The bar hanger holder and each bar hanger may physically contact one another and, in some instances, generate a compressive force to substantially reduce unwanted play. Each bar hanger may include a bar hanger head to couple the bar hanger assembly to various types of support structures, such as a T-bar, a stud, a joist, or a frame.

  • Publication number: 20220018523
Abstract: A housing assembly includes a housing to support one or more components of a lighting system or an electrical system, a caddy-type bar hanger assembly to facilitate installation onto support structures in the environment, and one or more bar hanger holders or a pan frame to couple the bar hanger assembly to the housing. In particular, the bar hanger assembly includes a crossmember with mounting features to facilitate installation onto a wood/metal joist or stud, a T-bar, a hat channel, and a metal frame. The crossmember is formed as a unitary component separate from the bar hangers, thus simplifying manufacture by enabling fabrication using conventional sheet metal processes and enabling different housing assemblies to be assembled using one or more of the same components to accommodate housings with different shapes and sizes. The housing assembly may also include support for a junction box and an emergency ballast.

  • Publication number: 20220018522
Abstract: A housing assembly for a lighting system includes a single metal housing that functions as a can housing and a junction box and has a round geometry to improve ease of installation and support trims with smaller flanges. The housing includes a top component and one or more sidewall components. The sidewall component defines the desired round shape of the housing while the top component provides one or more flat surfaces to support one or more knockout features. For a remodel installation, the housing assembly further includes a spring clip assembly with a mounting ring and multiple spring clamps to securely couple the housing assembly to a drywall panel of a ceiling. For a new construction installation, the housing assembly further includes a bar hanger assembly to couple the housing to one or more support structures within the ceiling.

  • Patent number: 5908506
Abstract: Continuous vapor deposition apparatus for coating objects with a coating material, e.g., parylene, are disclosed. The apparatus comprise an entrance chamber for loading the objects, a process chamber for coating the objects, and an exit chamber for removing the objects. Coating material is introduced into the process chamber under vacuum conditions in a vaporized state. The pressure in the process chamber can be controlled by modulating the rate of introduction of the coating material with a modulating valve in response to the pressure in the process chamber. A process for continuously coating objects by vapor deposition under vacuum conditions, suitable for use in the apparatus, is also disclosed.
