Abstract: Liquid laundry detergent compositions having improved stability and viscosity, and containing from about 5% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of a surfactant system. The surfactant system contains from about 0.5% to about 15%, by weight of the composition, of a mid-branched primary alkyl sulfate surfactant having an average of from about 14 to about 17 total carbons; at least about 0.1%, by weight of the composition, of an additional surfactant selected from alkyl alkoxy sulfate surfactants, alkyl alkoxy surfactants, and mixtures thereof; and from about 0.1% to about 1.5%, by weight of the composition, of sodium formate. The liquid laundry compositions contain less than about 3% of HLAS surfactants.
