  • Patent number: 10074057
Abstract: The invention provides for a graphical user interface which provides for very simple and intuitive ways of changing single or multiple inspection parameters. The graphical display immediately shows what the monitoring or inspection result would have been if the effected change had been in place during the inspection of the last “N” parts. This retrospective graphical “look-back” invokes immediate re-inspection facilitating an estimation of what the future inspection or process monitoring results will be if future production looks similar to the recent past production. The re-inspection results are immediately shown with a combination of visualization for ease of understanding and settings optimization. The visualization also shows selected other associated data to each specific inspection for ease of tracking and optimizing production processes.

  • Publication number: 20090057391
Abstract: A system for identification and confirmation of legitimate deposit refund containers on which a monetary deposit has been collected. The containers include a marking indicating eligibility for collection of the monetary deposit upon return of the containers. The system includes at least one emitter operative to emit radiation positioned to direct the radiation toward a container, at least one sensor operative to sense the radiation reflected back from the container and a control system operative to drive the at least one emitter, receive information from the at least one sensor, and process the information to determine eligibility for the container for the refund of the monetary deposit.

  • Patent number: 7488965
Abstract: This application relates to an apparatus and method for automated inspection of formed metal containers. More specifically, it pertains to the use of machine vision systems to identify and correlate manufacturing defects occurring in formed food and beverage containers to specific manufacturing paths or sources of origin (eg., body makers) used in the container forming process. The disclosed invention is enabled by the placement of a machine-readable code on specific portions of the can body during the forming process and the use of illumination exposure techniques.

  • Patent number: 5941111
Abstract: An instrumentation system for measuring forces during tool and die forming operations including a load cell positioned in a well bored into a base plate. The plate includes a series of channels that carry wiring from the load cell to the periphery of the base plate. The load cell is preferably mounted flush with a supporting surface of the base plate to facilitate periodic cleaning. The load cell includes sensors generating a signal corresponding to the force or compression on the load cell. The load cell also includes apertures extending therethrough to allow existing tooling to be mounted on the load cell to the base plate via fasteners and pins extending through the load cell to the base plate. An universal load cell embodiment includes a pattern of apertures allowing two or more tools having unique hole patterns to be mounted on the load cell with fasteners and pins extending therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5525905
Abstract: A object handling system is moveable between various diagnostic imaging apparatus for imaging thereby. The handling system has an object handling computer 34 for storing object identification data and imaging data. Selectively linking the object handling computer 34 with a first imaging system provides the first imaging system with access to the object identification data and imaging data for use in the production of diagnostic images thereby. Similarly, the object identification data and imaging data are available to a second imaging system for use in the production of diagnostic images thereby when the object handling computer 34 is selectively linked thereto. The object identification data is associated with the diagnostic images produced by various imaging system for subsequent correlation of the object with the diagnostic images of the object.
