  • Patent number: 4015059
Abstract: Bis(indenyl)- and bis(fluorenyl)-chromium [II] compounds are deposited on activated inorganic oxide supports to provide catalysts which are useful in the presence of hydrogen, alone, or with cyclopentadiene compounds, for the polymerization of ethylene in high yields. These catalysts exhibit good thermal stability and show a unique response to cyclopentadiene compounds which allows production of polymers having a relatively broad range of melt index values.
