Publication number: 20190183737Abstract: A pneumatic tubing system for distribution of medical objects in a medical environment without a dedicated carrier. The system comprises a plurality of headwall stations, a sending or receiving station, at least one pump, and at least one controller. Each headwall station is adapted to be installed in a headwall structure proximate to a patient bedside. The sending or receiving station is connected to each of the headwall stations via pneumatic tubing. The at least one pump is adapted to create pressure differentiation within at least a subset of the pneumatic tubing. The at least one controller is adapted to selectively activate the at least one pump to route a medical object between the sending or receiving station and one of the headwall stations within the pneumatic tubing.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2018Publication date: June 20, 2019Inventor: Fredrick M. Valerino, SR.

Patent number: 9630787Abstract: A system and method provides for a pneumatic tube carrier routing and tracking system having a system control module that captures and presents tracking information associated with sending and receiving carriers. The pneumatic tube carrier tracking system comprises sending and receiving stations connected by pneumatic tubing, and which are configured to securely send carriers, with receiving users optionally being restricted from unauthorized access of carriers. The receiving station further comprises a plurality of receiving bins, each comprising a door for preventing access to the receiving bin by unauthorized users. The sending and receiving stations have identifying tag readers configured to scan identifier tags to read carrier delivery, carrier receipt and receiving user information.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2014Date of Patent: April 25, 2017Inventor: Fredrick M. Valerino, Sr.

Patent number: 9549784Abstract: Systems, methods, and modes for automatic disposal of sharps in a medical environment via a pneumatic tube system and without a dedicated carrier from one of a plurality of dispersed sending stations to a secured central location. The system comprises a plurality of sending stations, a receiving stations routably connected to the plurality of sending stations via the pneumatic tubing and comprising a receiving container configured for storing sharps received via multiple deliveries, and a pump configured for creating a pressure differentiation within the pneumatic tubing for transmitting the sharps from one of the sending stations to the receiving station. The receiving container may be replaced by another receiving container when the receiving container is full.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2016Date of Patent: January 24, 2017Inventor: Fredrick M. Valerino, Sr.

Patent number: 9540187Abstract: A pneumatic tube system, including at least one system control module for controlling delivery of a pneumatic carrier through pneumatic tubing. The system includes at least one pneumatic tube station having a sealer, the sealer includes a heating pad and a sealing strip, where the sealer automatically grips the open end within the heating pad and the sealing strip upon insertion of the bag into the system. In one example, the sealer creates a vacuum to extract air from an interior space of the bag. The sealer applies heat to the open end to seal the bag. The system includes at least one pneumatic tube station configured for sending at least one carrier, the at least one sending pneumatic tube station being in signal communication with the at least one system control module, where the at least one carrier is sent through the system by pneumatic tubing.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2014Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Inventor: Fredrick M. Valerino, Sr.

Patent number: 9539178Abstract: Systems, methods, and modes for distribution of medical objects, such as medicines, from a sending station at a pharmacy or a nursing station to one of a plurality of receiving stations located by the patient's bedside via pneumatic tubing without a dedicated carrier. The system is a one-way system configured for allowing the medical object to travel in one direction from a sending station to one of the receiving stations. The pneumatic tube system comprises a sending station, a plurality of receiving stations routably connected to the sending station via the pneumatic tubing, a pump, and a system controller in signal communication with the sending station, the receiving station, and the pump.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2016Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Inventor: Fredrick M.
