    Abstract: A method for providing IP address translation services includes receiving, at a network node, a data packet from a wireless device. The data packet includes a target IP address associated with a destination device. The network node translates the target IP address into a synthetic IP address that contains the target IP address. A modified data packet is generated by replacing the target IP address in the data packet with the synthetic IP address. The network node transmits the modified data packet to the destination device.

The policy node transmits information indicating the label-setting to a SDNC configured to create a path for the traffic flow through the SDN based on the label and said one or more destinations identified by the label-setting. The policy node allocates a filter-setting defining that the particular traffic flow should be associated with the label. The policy node transmits information indicating the filter-setting to a classifying node configured to receive the particular traffic flow and to associate the particular traffic flow with the label.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to controlling unwanted traffic to a device (40) in a communication network (30). The idea is to provide a more fine-grained control of incoming packets or connection attempts, by using an inclusive firewall (10) i.e. a firewall operating on “white-listed” traffic to a device (40). The disclosure, relates to a method for controlling a data flow to a device in a communication network, using a firewall located in the path between said device and a source node. The method comprises receiving (210), in said firewall, at least one data packet of said data flow. The firewall then reads (220), a predefined selection of bits of said at least one data packet, wherein the selection of bits is contained in at least one field of said data packet. The at least field or fields, including the selection of bits, carry a first type information. The firewall then forwards (240) the at least one data packet to the device, if selection of bits fulfills a policy of said device.

The DNS server comprises multiple virtual DNS server instances servicing different clients. The DNS server further comprises a shared cache for caching records which indicate answers to resolved DNS queries. The shared cache is shared between a set of virtual DNS server instances. The virtual DNS server instances that share the shared cache are able to cache DNS query results in the shared cache as well as resolve a DNS query by retrieving a cached record corresponding to the DNS query from the shared cache. Thus it is possible for a virtual DNS server instance to make use of DNS query results obtained by other virtual DNS server instances.
