  • Patent number: 8504709
Abstract: A system receives streaming media data and stores the received data in a buffer to fill the buffer. The system selectively extracts the received data from the buffer to begin playback of the streaming media data. The system further analyzes remaining media data in the buffer, to identify a location in the buffer that stores an inactive period in the media data, when the buffer is emptied to a certain percentage of its capacity. The system also halts playback and re-fills the buffer with received streaming media data when the buffer reaches the location in the buffer and selectively extracts the received data from the buffer to resume playback of the streaming media data.

  • Publication number: 20100312492
Abstract: A method for determining the state of a road surface on which a vehicle has traveled includes the steps of: a) retrieving a signal representative of the distance between the wheel axle and the vehicle body; b) providing, from the retrieved signal, a band pass filtered first component; c) calculating a first value representative of an excitation degree of the first component.

  • Patent number: 7627311
Abstract: A method for populating a contacts list with information may include receiving an input identifying a first contact in a contacts list stored in a first communication device. The method may also include automatically generating a first message requesting that the first contact provide a picture in response to the received input and transmitting the first message to a second communication device associated with the first contact. The method may further include receiving a picture from the second communication device and storing the picture in the first communication device.

  • Publication number: 20070211674
Abstract: An electronic equipment for exchanging at least one of a first data or a second data over a first communication medium includes a first transceiver configured to exchange the first data and/or second data over the first communication medium, a data manager circuit for controlling data transfer over the first communication medium, and a user settable parameter corresponding to a characteristic of the first communication medium. The data manager circuit is operatively configured to automatically start, stop, and resume data transfer over the first communication medium based a comparison of the user settable parameter and the characteristic of the first communication medium.

  • Publication number: 20070213045
Abstract: Electronic equipment, such as a mobile phone, PDA or other device, is operative to transmit information to another electronic equipment when the two are paired caused by moving them, e.g., shaking, at substantially the same frequency and amplitude. The transferred information may be contacts or other information. The electronic equipment include a motion transducer providing motion signals representing motion and a comparator that compares motion signals to determine whether substantially the same motion is occurring to both electronic equipment; if affirmative, a substantially secure communication link is established over which information may be transmitted between electronic equipment. A method of transmitting information includes detecting occurrence of motion and in response thereto transmitting information.

  • Publication number: 20020091511
Abstract: A mobile terminal (100) which is controllable by spoken utterances like proper names or command words is described. The mobile terminal (100) comprises an interface (200) for receiving from a network server (300) acoustic models for automatic speech recognition and an automatic speech recognizer (110) for recognizing the spoken utterances based on the received acoustic models. The invention further relates to a network server (300) for mobile terminals (100) which are controllable by spoken utterances and to a method for obtaining acoustic models for a mobile terminal (100) controllable by spoken utterances.

  • Publication number: 20010053688
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of providing support to a mobile communications unit and comprising the steps of generating a support request at said mobile unit, sending a support message to a remote support location on the basis of said support request, said support message relating to one or more problems, and receiving said support message at said remote support location, wherein said method further comprises the steps of monitoring said support message at said remote support location after reception, generating support information enabling solving of said one or more problems at least partially, and providing said support information at said mobile unit.
