  • Patent number: 7412837
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a running time of an absorption refrigerating system of an absorption refrigerator, which absorption refrigerator comprises two differently tempered refrigerator compartments. The method comprises the steps of: monitoring the temperature in a first compartment; activating the refrigerating system when the temperature sensed in the first compartment exceeds a predetermined value; de-activating the refrigerating system when a cut-out temperature is reached; monitoring the time period during which the absorption refrigerating system is turned off; and supplying heat to the first refrigerator compartment, when the time period exceeds a predetermined time period. The invention also relates to a microcontroller, computer program product and to an absorption refrigerator comprising means for performing the inventive method.

  • Patent number: 7131282
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for defrosting an absorption refrigerator comprising the steps of determining a defrost start time for defrosting of the low temperature compartment and higher temperature compartment, starting the absorption refrigerating system at the defrost start time independent of other control parameters determining start and stop of the absorption refrigerating system, detecting stop of the absorption refrigerating system, applying heat to the first tube section using the first heater, detecting end of low temperature compartment defrosting, starting the absorption refrigerating system after end of low temperature compartment defrosting, and applying heat to the second tube section using the second heater.

  • Patent number: 7036332
Abstract: Heat exchanger arrangement for a refrigerator apparatus, which evaporator comprises an evaporator tube (2) for conducting a refrigerating medium; a heat exchanger (5, 11) with at least one heat conducting member (7, 11), which is arranged in heat conducting contact with a portion of the evaporator tube and; a heat generating element (10) for defrosting the heat exchanger, which element is arranged in heat conducting contact with the heat conducting member. For optimizing defrosting, the heat-conducting member (7, 11) is arranged essentially between the heat generating element (10) and the evaporator tube (2).

  • Publication number: 20050115268
Abstract: Refrigerator comprising at least one compartment (2, 21) to be cooled and a refrigeration apparatus with an evaporator, which evaporator is arranged in heat conducting contact with a heat exchanger (6, 24, 50). The refrigerator further comprises an essentially enclosed chamber (7, 30, 40), in which chamber the heat exchanger (6, 24, 50) is arranged and which chamber communicates with the compartment (2, 21) through an inlet port (9, 31, 41) and an outlet port (10, 32, 42) of the chamber, for allowing air to circulate from the compartment through the inlet port into the chamber and trough the outlet port back to the compartment, and means (9, 11, 13, 31a, 31b, 41a, 41b, 42a, 42b) for preventing air to pass by self-circulation from the chamber, through the inlet port and/or outlet port. The invention also concerns a method for temperature control of a refrigerator.
