The mounting system includes a mounting portion of the energy source frame extending along at least one side of the energy source frame and a sleeve with a first end and a second end. The mounting portion comprises an opening extending vertically through the mounting portion, and the opening comprises an entrance with a first dimension and a base with a rim and a second dimension. The second dimension is smaller than the first dimension. The sleeve is positioned through the opening with the first end sitting on the rim of the base and the second end extending vertically above the entrance.

    Abstract: A frame structure for maintaining energy storage devices of a vehicle in position which is deformed in a controlled way in the event of a side-impact, in such a way to avoid deforming into the location of the vehicle seats. The proposed frame structure is adapted to deform controllably in a centre position align with a location between the vehicle seats. In this way are occupants of the vehicle kept safe since no or less deformation occur in the vehicle seat location. The above advantages are provided by that lateral support members of the frame includes a deformation zone adapted to deform in response to a lateral force exerted on the lateral support member. The deformation zone is located such that, when the frame structure is installed in the vehicle, the deformation zone is aligned with a location between seats of the vehicle.

The reinforcement arrangement which is configured to be centrally located is attachable to lateral support beams of a frame provides a more weight efficient solution compared to previously used reinforcement arrangement attached to longitudinal beams located in a tunnel structure of the vehicle. The described reinforcement arrangement is further configured to minimize intrusion into the vehicle interior in the event of a frontal collision, and to instead direct forces into the frame via the lateral support beams. Thereby, the force can be directed into the frame and not to sensitive components of the energy source.
