Abstract: Powdered, paste, or liquid media for cleaning and/or degreasing hard surfaces, especially surfaces of organic polymers (PVC) contain active ingredients of amino acids, carboxylic acids, and nonionic surfactants, possibly supplemented by action-reinforcing auxiliaries and/or demulsifying additives. Processes using these media are also claimed.

Abstract: The invention is a demulsifying cleaning preparation comprising a mixture of nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, monocarboxylic acids having 8 to 9 carbon atoms, builders and auxiliaries. The particular proportions of surfactants permits demulsification and rapid separation of oily materials from the detergent mixture.

Abstract: This invention relates to demulsifying cleaning preparations having a prolonged surface-wetting effect which contain the following components:(a) builders/complexing agents in an amount of from 0.5 to 10% by weight,(b) one or more alkanolamines in an amount of from 20 to 60% by weight,(c) one or more nonionic surfactants in an amount of from 1 to 15% by weight and(d) water in an amount which, with components (a), (b) and (c), adds up to 100% by weight.The cleaning preparations are suitable for cleaning and degreasing lacquered or non-lacquered vehicle surfaces, engines, floors and walls of workshops at temperatures as low as room temperature with demulsification of the oily or fatty soil removed.

Abstract: A method for improving the separating action in the ultrafiltration of aqueous solutions containing high-molecular-weight organic compounds including water-soluble anionic and/or non-ionic surface-active compounds consisting essentially of subjecting an aqueous solution containing high-molecular-weight organic compounds including water-soluble anionic and/or non-ionic surface-active compounds to an ultrafiltration through a porous membrane in the presence of olefinically-unsaturated C.sub.16-22 fatty acids or water-soluble salts thereof, in a weight ratio of surface-active compound to fatty acid or salt of from 20:1 to 1:1 and recovering said aqueous solution substantially separated from said high-molecular-weight organic compounds. The retention power for water-soluble tensides can be 0.9 or more with this measure (without the addition, .ltoreq.0.1 to 0.5).
