Abstract: A lid and locking system therefor at one end of an ammunition container with an outer shell is made up of a ring fixed on one end of the shell, a lid seated within the ring, a lock spider with the end of its legs taken up in openings in the ring, and a screw, supported by the spider, for forcing the lid against the ring. The lid has a castellated cover on its outer side. The segments of the cover, answering to its castellated form, come to an end in a plane at the end of the locking ring and are somewhat smaller in diameter than the diameter of a circle running through inner ends of ribs on and within the locking ring.

Abstract: A plastic packing container for the single packing of goods susceptible to shock, in particular ammunition, wherein the packing container consists of an inner container and an outer container adapted to be closed by a lid, and wherein said outer container is in contact with the inner container in limited areas only so that cavities are formed between the outer container and the inner container, whereby the forces generated upon impact or fall of the loaded plastics packing container, are absorbed by an elastic deformation of the wall portions of the outer container and the inner container which wall portions define the cavities.

Abstract: Two symmetrical, axially separable barrel halves of plastic material are provided at their confronting end faces with peripheral edge beads each forming a set of axially projecting teeth alternating with gaps of like width, the teeth of each half fitting into the gaps of the other. The free ends of the teeth are provided with radially extending bosses forming two annular crenelations separated by a substantially flat ring zone upon the interfitting of the teeth, this zone receiving a broad strap inserted between the two crenelations to hold the barrel halves together. The peripheral edge beads are further provided, radially inwardly of the teeth and gaps, with axially extending tenons and mortises or equivalent tongue-and-groove formations to provide a supplemental bracing effect. The inner strap surface may be correspondingly beveled to exert upon the free tooth ends an elastic biasing force urging the two barrel halves toward each other in the axial direction.
