  • Patent number: 4573510
Abstract: The tire for heavy load consists of a multi-layered flat ring held in the axial and radial direction by a two-part metal felloe and supported between the felloe by air.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 13, 1981
Date of Patent: March 4, 1986

  • Patent number: 4534393
Abstract: The side wall (5) of a pneumatic tire comprises an at least double encirculating multi-layer winding (9, 12) which is joined in an interlacing manner with the laterally adjacent winding (9, 12) by means of staggered layers (10, 11, 13, 14).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4531561
Abstract: A tire consisting of an air-tight internal panel (1), carcass (2), wire cap (10), hump strip (9), belt (5), tread (6), shoulder portion (7), wire core (11) and lateral portion (8), whereby a combined prefabricated air-tight panel (1) with carcass fabric (2) in special rubber mixture encircles at least twice and on which is at least a double encircling coil (5) with textile treads crossing each other in more than three layers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 1983
Date of Patent: July 30, 1985
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 4493355
Abstract: Puncture-proof vehicle tires consisting essentially of one material and comprising a tread thicker than the side walls, an encircling empty space between the tread and the base of the tire and an encircling plastics reinforcement in the base of the tire.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 1982
Date of Patent: January 15, 1985
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 4467852
Abstract: A lorry tire which is filled with compressed air during normal operation and which has the necessary stability for continued movement and has adequate running properties even in the case of a loss of air, due to its low height to width ratio, its flat tread curvature and its relatively rigid and thick sidewalls.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 16, 1982
Date of Patent: August 28, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 4429728
Abstract: The invention relates to a tire suitable for all-year-round use comprising a tread profile in which--looking in the running direction--one half of the tire is formed from profile blocks separated from one another while the other half of the tire has a substantially continuous profile interrupted only by lamellae. The two halves of the tire are best made of different rubbers of which the properties are adapted to the particular tread profile.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 1982
Date of Patent: February 7, 1984
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 4051883
Abstract: A puncture-proof vehicle tire mounted on a multi-part felly, wherein the tire foot and the tread are connected by cushioning axial and radial reinforcing parts, formed by axial cut-outs which are staggered in relation to one another and are optionally subdivided by crosspieces. The cut-outs are preferably arranged in such a way that the tire consists of opposed segments, wherein the tire foot and the tread are connected by an optionally asymmetrical cushioning section, which is oriented alternately in the consecutive segments towards one felly edge or the other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1975
Date of Patent: October 4, 1977
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 4037635
Abstract: A puncture proof vehicle tire comprising two symmetrical halves mounted on a divided felly, wherein the tread and the foot of each tire half are connected by a resilient, reinforcing connecting portion which comprises a plurality of supporting members having been formed by axial cut-outs. It is preferred to arrange the axial cut-outs in such a way, that the supporting members of the connecting portion are segment-like and alternately arranged in opposite directions and thus in successive segments are orientated alternately towards the felly edge and the felly center.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1975
Date of Patent: July 26, 1977
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Jakob Ippen, Friedel Stuttgen
  • Patent number: 3957101
Abstract: A punctureproof non-pneumatic vehicle tire comprising two halves applied on a felly which is subdivided into two parts by a metal or plastic ring. The two symmetrical halves of the tire are built up of segments each of which consists of the tread, the foot, supported by a wire core, and a connecting part. This connecting part is curved and asymmetrically arranged so that the parts in adjacent segments are alternately directed towards the middle of the felly and the edge of the felly. The connecting parts substantially reduce the total mass of the tire and constitute the actual cushioning element.

Date of Patent: May 18, 1976
