  • Patent number: 5769525
Abstract: The headlight has a reflector (10) and a light source (12) which is arranged in a lamp carrier (22), which can be pivoted in relation to the reflector (10) about a horizontal axis (30) between a position for low beam and a position for high beam by means of an actuator (42). Starting from the position for low beam, the light source (12) is moved as a result of the pivoting movement about the axis (30), together with the lamp carrier (22), both in the direction of the optical axis (11) of the reflector (10) towards its vertex and also vertically downward in relation to the optical axis (11). Starting from the low beam reflected by the reflector (10) in the case of the arrangement of the light source (12) in its low beam position, the result achieved is both a concentration of the light beam reflected by the reflector (10) and an elevation of the light beam, so that an effective high beam is generated by means of which the remote region in front of the vehicle is illuminated with a high illumination intensity.

  • Patent number: 5718505
Abstract: A headlight for vehicles has a light source, a reflector having at least two different reflector regions including a first reflector region which reflects a light emitted by the light source as a converging light beam to form low beam and a second reflector region formed so that light emitted by the light source and reflected by the second reflector region together with the light emitted by the light source and reflected by the first reflector region form high beam, a lens arranged after the reflector in a light outlet direction so that at least the light which forms low beam passes through the lens, and a screening device arranged between the reflector and the lens, the screening device having a stationary screening part and a movable screening part, the movable screening part being movable between a position for low beam in which light forming low beam can pass along the movable screening part and a position for high beam in which additionally the light reflected by the second reflector region can pass alon

  • Patent number: 5559679
Abstract: A lighting device for vehicles has a housing, at least one light source, and a holder fastenable to the housing and formed so that the at least one light source is insertable in the holder. The holder is provided with at least one electrical contact element on which the light source comes to rest. At least one electrical lead is connected with the at least one electrical contact and connectable to a voltage source. The holder has a covering composed of an electrically insulating material. A plug includes a plug part, and at least one electrical connecting element connected with the plug part is arranged on one part of the housing. The connecting element is bringable to rest at the contact element of the holder under the action of a spring force in built-in position of the holder in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5373423
Abstract: A motor vehicle light, especially a signal light comprises a light source, a reflector, a closure disc for closing the motor vehicle light from outside, a collective lens device arranged between the reflector and the closure disc, a screen device arranged between the collective lens device and the closure disc and having light impermeable regions and light permeable regions. The collective lens device directs light which is reflected from the reflector to the light permeable regions. The screen device is formed reflective at its side facing the closure disc, the screen device at least at its side facing the closure disc being curved concavely.

  • Patent number: 4658340
Abstract: In a headlight including a housing supporting a reflector with a bulb and having an opening for handling the bulb, a hood of elastic material is provided, which closes the opening from the rear side of the housing. An annular sealing lip is provided on the hood itself which in assembly lies against the outer surface of the conical ring portion formed on the rear wall of the housing. An open hinge with bellows and a tongue, engageable with a shoulder on the rear wall of the housing, is provided at one side of the hood and a snap arrangement is provided on a diametrically opposite side of the hood to secure the hood to the housing.
