Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer composition contains a styrene block copolymer (SBC), a polyolefin or copolyester-based thermoplastic elastomer and uncoated hollow glass spheres, wherein the polyolefin or thermoplastic elastomer is functionalized by a grafting reaction with a vinyl alkoxysilane, a vinyl acyloxysilane, a methacryloxyalkyl alkoxysilane or a methacryloxyalkyl acyloxysilane or with an anhydride of an unsaturated organic acid. A method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer using the thermoplastic elastomer composition, and the thermoplastic elastomer obtained in the process are also disclosed. Furthermore, various uses of the thermoplastic elastomer, in which a thermoplastic elastomer having low density and yet good mechanical properties is required, are disclosed.

Furthermore, the use of a mixture of an elastomer and a cross-linking agent for the elastomer for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition are disclose. A further subject of the invention is the use of a non-elastomeric polyolefin which is functionalized with an anhydride of an organic carboxylic acid for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition according to the invention. In addition, the invention relates to the use of a thermoplastic elastomer composition according to the invention for producing an article/composite material with a polyamide. The invention also relates to a process for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition according to the invention as well as a composite material made of the thermoplastic elastomer composition according to the invention with a polyamide.

Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer composition (TPE composition) with an improved adhesion to rubber based on cross-linked diene rubber mixtures is disclosed. The rubbers are preferably sulphur-cross-linkable and selected from the group natural rubber (NR), isoprene rubber (IR), butadiene rubber (BR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), butyl rubber (IIR) or ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM). In addition, the use of the thermoplastic elastomer composition for producing a composite material with a rubber, as well as an article that includes a thermoplastic elastomer composition and a rubber are disclosed. Further, a process for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: Thermoplastic elastomer compositions have a hardness that can be adjusted by selecting combinations of thermoplasts and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). The thermoplastic elastomer compositions have very high temperature and chemical resistance with simultaneously very good mechanical parameters in a very broad Shore A hardness range of from 10 to 100 ShA with good processability. Furthermore, a process for producing thermoplastic elastomer compositions as well as a process for adjusting the hardness in the case of thermoplastic elastomer compositions is disclosed.
