  • Patent number: 5788023
Abstract: A brake actuator for electrically actuated vehicle brakes includes a spindle assembly without additional gear stages. The forces required for engaging the brake are realized herein by utilizing the spindle assembly. The brake actuator includes a brake pad which is pressed against a brake disc with the aid of an electric motor (4) operating as an electric drive. A planetary-roller spindle assembly operatively connects the electric motor to a brake piston on which the brake pad is mounted. The electric motor (4) is connected via the spindle assembly to the brake piston (32). The spindle assembly (16) is arranged in the displacement direction of the brake pad and the brake piston (32) is journalled so as to be axially displaceable with the brake pad. The spindle assembly (16) includes a spindle rod (18) which is mounted so as to be an extension of the rotor (8) of the electric motor (4).

  • Patent number: 5782322
Abstract: The invention is directed to a brake actuator (2) having a transmission including an electric motor (6) as a drive element, a converting device for converting the rotational movement of the electric motor (6) into a linear movement and a hydraulic transmission (16, 18, 20) for transmitting the linear movement of the converting device to a friction lining (22) of a brake. The brake actuator of the invention does not require a mechanical transmission connected between the motor and the hydraulic transmission. This is achieved with a converting device configured as a spindle unit (12, 14) and is realized in that the spindle nut (12) is fixedly connected to the electric motor (6) and the spindle rod (14) is fixedly connected to a first hydraulic piston (16) of the hydraulic transmission (16, 18, 20). The electric motor is provided with a hollow shaft (10) for accommodating the displacement stroke of the spindle rod.

  • Patent number: 4712434
Abstract: A device for emission-free sampling of volatile liquids comprises a 4-way tap from which lead two lines, which can be connected together, from and to the container holding the liquid to be tested and two other lines, which can also be connected together, lead to a sample bottle which can be sealed and which can be connected to the device. The device further comprises a supply line for an inert flushing medium, which joins the line leading into the sample bottle in the region of the sample bottle, and a discharge line for the inert flushing medium, which leads from the line coming out of the sample bottle in the region of the sample bottle and proceeds to a disposal system.
