  • Patent number: 6206262
Abstract: A separating device for severing perforated tube sections includes an advancing mechanism and a tearing mechanism which respectively include opposing rollers or cylinders which are situated on both sides of the tubular web to be separated and over which endless transport bands are guided. The rollers or cylinders of the tearing mechanism can be moved in the direction toward the tubular web by a control element. The opposing rollers or cylinders in the tearing mechanism are respectively situated in swivel arms that are arranged such that they swivel around swiveling axes that oppose one another in the transport direction of the tubular web and the swivel arms swivel apart in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 5908169
Abstract: A device for processing at least two webs of material made of paper or plastic film is provided with at least two rolls of material, each of which can be rotated in an unwind unit and from each of which a predrawing unit, comprising predrawing rollers or rolls, takes off the web and pulls it into the device. To guarantee the proper infeeding of the web into the device, even if after a sudden operating stoppage the rolls of material coast longer than the predrawing units, there is between each unwind unit and each predrawing unit one brake each, which decelerates the web and which is activated when the predrawing units are abruptly stopped or they significantly delay the infeed.

  • Patent number: 5802945
Abstract: A needle roller arrangement includes several needle rollers arranged in a freely rotatable manner in a rotary frame on a circular line which is concentric to its rotational axis. One of the needle rollers interacts with a brush roller for perforating a material web passing through the arrangement. In order to be able to lift the needle roller interacting with the brush roller away and replace it while requiring less energy, each roller is arranged inside the rotary frame such that it can be lifted off of the brush roller. The needle roller interacting with the brush roller is respectively provided with an arrangement for removal from the brush roller and application to the brush roller.

  • Patent number: 5549751
Abstract: An adhesive applicator comprising a transfer roller is provided with a uniform layer of glue and is set against a format roller such that application members distributed over its periphery pick up glue applied in a certain format and transfer the same to workpieces to be coated with glue. To prevent that glue thrown off from the application members contaminates the apparatus and gets lost, a collection roller (2) is disposed in direction of rotation of the format roller (14) before the transfer roller (1), which collection roller forms a troughlike nip with said transfer roller (1).

  • Patent number: 5298007
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing carrier bags of paper with paper handles glued to the outside in a continuous working cycle, firstly, in a bag machine, carrier bags without handles are manufactured. Paper handles are glued to the carrier bags in a handle application unit. The carrier bags are fed from the bag machine with the bottoms leading to the handle application unit. After the handles have been glued to the bags, the bags are removed, again with the bottoms leading.

  • Patent number: 4984728
Abstract: In a dual belt conveyor for multi-ply continuous paper tubing having upper and lower endless conveyor belts between which the tubing is fed, turning point pulleys and backing rollers for the respective conveyor belts are longitudinally offset so that the tubing is moved through the conveyor along an undulating path. The inlet turning point pulley for the upper conveyor belt is positioned in front of the equivalent pulley for the lower conveyor belt so that the upper belt will contact the incoming tubing before the lower belt. A brake plate is provided under the inlet pulley of the upper belt over which plate the tubing is fed. The arrangement avoids the formation of undesirable waves and wrinkles in the tubing.

  • Patent number: 4856396
Abstract: Apparatus for selectively forming a continuously moving web (5) with apertures or holes by means of a punching mechanism consisting of a rotating die (26) and a rotating punch (14) and with venting pinholes by means of a rotating needle bar (34) and a rotating abutment (13). The die (26) or punch (14) and the needle bar (34) are secured to a common shaft (28). The punch (14) or die (26) for cooperating with the die (26) or punch (14) on the common shaft (28) is secured to a first shaft (11) on the opposite side of the web (5). The abutment (13) for cooperating with the needle bar (34) is secured to a second shaft (12) disposed on the opposite side of the web (5). The first and second shafts (11, 12) are movably mounted in pivoted mounting arms (9, 10), which can be fixed in position. A rotation of the first and second shafts (11, 12) will either move the punch (14) or die (26) into engagement with the die (26) or punch (14) or will move the needle bar (31) into engagement with the abutment (13).

  • Patent number: 4462779
Abstract: To maintain an air or gas bubble forming in a moving tube of plastics material between pairs of squeeze rollers, an air or gas injecting needle is mounted to pivot substantially in a plane containing the centerline of the tube. The needle pierces the tube wall of the bubble when in one rotary position, moves with the tube while pivoting through an arc depending on the depth of needle penetration and is withdrawn from the bubble in a second rotary position.

  • Patent number: 4117771
Abstract: In an apparatus for forming bundles of flattened bags and successively transporting said bundles away, a rotary cylinder deposits successive bags edgewise on a depositing table disposed between the cylinder and a stationary support. The bags are accumulated in juxtaposition on the table to form a stack and gripper means periodically withdraw a bundle of bags from the stack by passing through the table between the cylinder and the support. The gripper means are non-coterminous with the space between the cylinder and the support so that they withdraw a bundle containing fewer bags than are contained in the stack.

  • Patent number: 4114520
Abstract: In an apparatus for making bags from a continuously fed flattened thermoplastic tubular or semi-tubular web of film, severing means for cutting the web into sections co-operate with a first welding cylinder for performing a welding operation on each section with the aid of welding tongs, the web sections being held to the welding cylinder by means of belts which partially envelop the cylinder, and a second welding cylinder is provided downstream of the first cylinder, the web sections being transferred to the second cylinder for the purpose of having a further welding operation performed on them.

  • Patent number: 4055034
Abstract: Apparatus for compressing stacks of flat superposed sheet articles such as bags and enveloping the stacks in packaging film comprises a pressure chamber through an inlet aperture of which each stack is lifted by a pressure ram, together with a packaging film that initially spans the inlet aperture and comes to lie along the top and sides of the stack after the latter has been inserted in the pressure chamber. Following compression of the stack between the ram and a removable backing member at the top of the chamber, a reciprocatable push member having one end disposed adjacent the inlet aperture executes a forward stroke to cover the underside of the stack while the ram is laterally retracted, whereby the enveloped stack is supported by the push member on termination of its forward stroke. Welding means for joining the ends of the enveloping film co-operate with the push member, which comprises a frame and a plurality of parallel rollers freely rotatably mounted in said frame.
