  • Publication number: 20150377315
Abstract: A method for producing a cylinder tube (2), which is closed at the end so as to be fluid-tight, from a tubular blank (30). The blank (30) is formed into the cylinder tube (2) with the aid of a cold forming method in such a way that on an end region (6) of the cylinder tube (2) an opening (8) remains in the cylinder tube (30), a mounting region (12) is produced in the radially outer edge region (10) of the end region (6) and the cylinder tube (2) is closed by fluid-tight attachment on the mounting region (12) of an end piece (14) which closes the opening (8). A cylinder tube (2) comprises the cylinder tube (2) cold formed from the blank (30) having an opening (8) at the end, the mounting region (12) and an end piece (14) attached to the mounting region (12) so as to be fluid-tight.

  • Publication number: 20150343506
Abstract: Method for producing a container tube (15), in particular a supporting means for a motor vehicle strut, with longitudinal sections of tube (I-IV) of different wall thicknesses and/or inner and/or outer diameters, following one after the other in the longitudinal direction, starting from a hollow and/or tubular blank (1), by means of repeated drawing and wall ironing by means of at least one drawing and wall ironing female die (6, 13, 16), applied to the outside of the blank, towards a male die (9, 19, 22), for example a punch or mandrel, in contact with the inside of the blank, wherein, for at least some of the longitudinal sections (I-IV), a change of the male die is carried out before they are drawn and wall ironed.

  • Publication number: 20070296172
Abstract: A bearing module for a motor vehicle steering gear, comprising a steering rack (9) and a driving pinion (10) engaging therewith. The bearing module comprises at least one pressure part (3; 13, 30) exhibiting recess concavity, whose concave wall surrounds a guide through-passage (14) for axial guidance of the steering rack (9), and radial forces emitted from the wall are generated by means of at least one translatory displaceable wedge device (3c, 13; 30a; 31a) for pressing the steering rack (9), which is received in the guide through-passage (14), onto the drive pinion (10) engaging therein. The wedge device or wedge devices (3c, 13; 30a; 31a) are displaceably (14) guided in one direction extending axially or parallel to the axis in relation to the guide through-passage (14) for the steering rod (9).

  • Patent number: 7076855
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a rack-and-pinion steering housing for transmission of steering force including the steps of pressing steering rod guide elements axially into open end regions of a tubular steering housing, and axially pressing the elements into the tubular housing to radially expand the housing end regions.

  • Publication number: 20030167619
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a rack-and-pinion steering housing (1) that surrounds a gear rack in the form of tube, said gear rack serving to transmit steering power. The housing also comprises at least one pinion engagement section (2) by means of which a pinion unit (9) can be mounted for longitudinal movement of the gear rack. Said housing is initially produced from a tubular starting workpiece made of steel, which is processed by means of internal high pressure molding in a forging die with the aim of completely shaping the contour of the rack-and-pinion steering housing. The production method involves: pressing the steering rod guiding elements (4a, 4b) on both open end areas of the rack-and-pinion steering housing; expanding both end areas (3a, 3b) while simultaneously performing the above-mentioned pressing step.
