  • Patent number: 4476282
Abstract: A method of producing finely divided, stable oil-in-water emulsions of organopolysiloxanes is disclosed. The condensation and/or polymerization of lower molecular organosilicon compounds is carried out in a paste which consists of the organosilicon compounds, the amount of emulsifier required for preparing the emulsion and an amount of water equal to 0.5 to 3 times the weight of the emulsifier. This transparent to weakly opaque paste is then stirred in water in order to form an emulsion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 29, 1983
Date of Patent: October 9, 1984
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG
Inventors: Gotz Koerner, Friedhelm Nickel, Hans Rott, Gunter Schmidt
  • Patent number: 4405328
Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous preparation for shrinkproofing wool, which contains, as active ingredient, organopolysiloxanes of a particular structure with mercaptoalkyl or mercaptoaryl radicals and hydrogen atoms. The preparation is storage-stable and causes no yellowing in naturally colored or white wool. The hand of the wool is not disadvantageously affected.

  • Patent number: 4283191
Abstract: A preparation for shrinkproofing wool composed of:(a) 1 to 50 weight percent of organopolysiloxanes, which are built up from(a.sub.1) 90 to 99.8 mole percent of units of formula R.sub.2.sup.1 SiO, and(a.sub.2) 0.2 to 10 mole percent of units of the formula R.sup.2 SiO.sub.1.5 in whichR.sup.1 and R.sup.2 consist of 0.1 to 10 mole percent of polyoxyalkylene residues and, on the other hand, of 0.03 to 3 mole percent of mercaptoalkyl or mercaptoaryl residues, and/or 0.06 to 6 mole percent of aminoalkyl residues and/or 0.1 to 10 mole percent of anionic groups, which are linked to silicon atoms through carbon atoms, the remaining portion of R.sup.1 and R.sup.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4248590
Abstract: A preparation for shrinkproofing wool composed of 1 to 50 weight percent of organopolysiloxanes composed of 90 to 99.8 mole % of units having the formula R.sub.n.sup.1 SiO.sub.(4-n)/2, and 0.2 to 10 mole % of units having the formula R.sup.2 SiO.sub.3/2 with the remainder being water and other conventional additives. These preparations provide emulsions which are stable over long periods of time, do not precipitate even in the presence of moisture, provide durable shrinkproof properties to wool, and have no adverse effect on the "hand" of the wool.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 1979
Date of Patent: February 3, 1981
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG
Inventors: Gotz Koerner, Gunter Schmidt, Friedhelm Nickel
  • Patent number: 4182682
Abstract: A composition for shrinkproofing wool which is composed of 1 to 50 weight percent of organopolysiloxanes containing mercaptoalkyl and mercaptoaryl groups and having between 10 to 1000 silicon atoms per mercaptoalkyl or mercaptoaryl group, and 50 to 99 weight percent water, emulsifiers and organic solvents. The use of the composition provides durable shrinkproofing properties in wool and does not adversely affect the handle of the fabric.
