  • Patent number: 4883550
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced shaped article of plastics material for pipeline systems. The article includes an inner casing of a thermoplastic material and an outer casing of a fiber winding impregnated with resin. The tape is wound onto the inner casing so that at least the entire surface thereof is covered. The article is then immersed in a resin bath while a negative pressure is maintained outside of and in the interior of the article. The resin bath is subsequently subjected to atmospheric pressure. The impregnated article is removed from the resin bath and the resin is hardened by ultraviolet light while the article is simultaneously rotated.

  • Patent number: 4702498
Abstract: A flange connection of pipe pieces having an outer layer composed of a laminate and provided with grooves. A two-part sleeved collar of the same material is radially placed onto the pipe piece. Projections provided on the radially inner surface of the flanged sleeve are placed in the grooves. The two parts of the flanged sleeve are fixedly connected to the pipe pieces by means of gluing, the two parts of the flanged sleeve being held together until the adhesive has cured by means of a flange ring slid onto a conical portion of the flanged sleeve. A cover ring is fastened to the end of the inner layer of the pipe piece made of a thermoplastic material, so that the medium conducted through the pipes does not come into contact with the couter layer and the flanged sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4619470
Abstract: A pair of pipe members are joined together in a flange connection assembly particularly suited for fiber-reinforced plastic components, the pipe members being formed to include an inner pipe jacked consisting essentially of a thermoplastic material and an outer pipe jacket consisting essentially of a fiber winding impregnated with a snythetic resin. A threaded section is formed in each of the outer pipe jackets at the end of each of the pipe members, a flange bushing is provided with a loose flange ring threadedly engaged on each of the threaded sections and a covering collar covering at least the end of each of the pipe members is inserted at the inner pipe jacket.

  • Patent number: 4614369
Abstract: A pair of pipe members, each including an inner pipe jacket consisting essentially of a thermoplastic material and an outer pipe jacket consisting essentially of a fiber winding impregnated synthetic resin, are joined together at their ends in a connector assembly which includes a pair of semi-circular shells engaged externally about the outer pipe jackets at each end of the pipe members, a pair of clamping rings in press-fitted engagement about the shells for pressing the shells against the pipe members and a pipe stub arranged internally of the pipe members in cooperative relationship with the inner pipe jackets to form a fluid-tight seal therebetween.
