  • Patent number: 6713945
Abstract: A coolable infrared radiator element of quartz glass with at least one heating tube, which has a gas-tight current lead-through at each of its two ends. A long, stretched-out electrical heating conductor in the heating tube serves as the radiation source. At least one cooling element is provided which has at least one cooling channel for a liquid coolant. A metal reflector is provided at least in the area of the heating conductor, which reflector has at least one reflective surface. The problem is to provide an infrared radiator which can deliver high energy concentrations of >500 kW/m2 in conjunction with low radiation losses. The problem is solved in that at least one reflective surface, when seen in cross section, describes a line around a surface, where the opening for the passage of at least some of the liquid coolant is provided in the area of this surface.

  • Patent number: 5948834
Abstract: The invention relates to a mixture for the manufacture of intumescent shaped parts with a composition containing in percentage by weight, 30-60% thermoplastic, 40-70% expandable graphite and 5-40% filler mixture. The mixture does not attack processing machines and has an improved foaming behavior. A particular characteristic of the mixture is that the filler mixture forms OH.sup.- ions when it contacts moisture.

  • Patent number: 5863976
Abstract: A sealing compound with a silicone polymer as the base, a cross-linking agent and an accelerator and fillers to be added as needed and a softener, which hardens during contact with the environmental moisture, through addition of heat or through combination of its constituents (2K-products). The softener consists entirely or partially of a paraffinic hydrocarbon, in which the percentage of the cyclical paraffinic hydrocarbons is in the range of 36 to 40% and the percentage of the noncyclical paraffinic hydrocarbons is in the range of 60 to 64%.

  • Patent number: 5654510
Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer apparatus includes an emitter for emitting pulsed ultrasonic signals into a railroad wheel to be tested and at least one receiver for receiving the corresponding echo signals from the wheel. Transmission of the ultrasonic signals into the wheel as well as the return transmission of signals from the wheel to the receiver can be carried out in a contacting and/or non-contacting manner. The emitter (2) and the receiver (3) are arranged spaced apart from one another around the circumference of the railroad wheel (1), with a sufficient spacing distance that the receiver (3) is arranged outside of a symmetrical range (4) about the centerline (6) of the emitter (2) in which superposition of the two pulse packets of ultrasonic signals travelling around the wheel can arise.

  • Patent number: 5078304
Abstract: A device for emptying a barrel having a highly viscous content by pushing a piston into the barrel. In order to prevent the barrel from being deformed or damaged, the device includes a turntable onto which the barrel can be mounted. The barrel can be reinforced on its outer periphery by means of a flexible looping element wound therearound, which looping element is unwound from or wound onto a drum.

  • Patent number: 5019115
Abstract: The feed advance speed, or rather its scalar value, of a turning cutting tool edge is varied for a time duration which is short relative to the time duration required for one full revolution of a work piece. The varying of the scalar value of the feed advance speed takes place at non-periodic timed intervals and at least once for each work piece revolution. Thus, a simple control not requiring any enforced phase relationship between tool movements during different revolutions of the work piece, can be applied to a computer numerically controlled machine tool, such a lathe for truing railroad wheels. A work piece surface is achieved which has at least the quality of conventional work piece surfaces produced with substantially more complicated phase controls for the tool movement. Positive chip fracture is also achieved.

  • Patent number: 4865229
Abstract: A dosing gun consists substantially of a housing having a trigger device with a trigger lever, with which a piston arranged on a piston rod can be operated evenly by a spring, which spring is initially compressed by a use of the trigger lever and a band brake. For this purpose a cord, which can be wound up onto a cord drum, is secured to an end of the piston rod. A brake drum which is secured an a drive shaft and can be operated by a brake band, is arranged in one piece on the cord drum. With the hand wheel mounted on a left side of the drive shaft, it is possible to wind the cord onto the cord drum and to compress the spring.

  • Patent number: 4805154
Abstract: For mixing and conveying of highly viscous fluids, the invention provides a single-stage or multi-stage axial centrifugal pump to which the components to be mixed are fed through lateral connections (10, 12) in front of the first rotor (FIG. 1). The blades (4, 4') of the or of each rotor (FIG. 2) have at least one hole (5). The lateral connections (10, 12) have at least one mixing nozzle (12) with several holes (13). The pump housing consists of two parts. Fixed guide blades (2, 2') are provided in the lower part (1), out of which the upper part (5) together with rotor shaft (3), its bearings (7, 8) and the rotors can be lifted. A relief and control opening (15) is provided above a gasket (14) which separates the upper part (5) from the inside of the pump.
