  • Patent number: 8764275
Abstract: A mixing and/or conveyance method and a mixing and/or conveyance device for a fluid substance, comprising a sample chamber, a cavity communicating with the sample chamber, said cavity being configured for accommodating a compressible medium, and a sound source that may be coupled to the compressible medium for the production of a fluctuation in pressure in the compressible medium. In the region of its mouth, the cavity is designed such that, in the case of an expansion in the volume of the compressible medium in the cavity, a directed fluid stream of the fluid substance escapes from the cavity through its mouth. A sample processing chip (‘lab on a chip’) comprising such a mixing and/or conveyance device.

  • Patent number: 8591093
Abstract: The invention relates to a mixing element for a flowable substance, comprising a body enclosing a cavity, wherein the cavity has at least one opening and the cavity and the opening are located relative to the body such that a fluid flow of the flowable substance out of the cavity through the opening transfers a torque to the mixing element. The invention further relates to the use of a tube or hose section as such a mixing element and a mixing device comprising such a mixing element, a container, and a sound source coupled thereto for generating an oscillating pressure.

  • Publication number: 20110165025
Abstract: A chip for performing and measuring chemical reactions, interactions (bonds), and/or conformational changes, especially fast chemical reactions and processes. The chip includes a base plate, which is made of a polymer material that is transparent at least in the measuring zone, and having. fluid ducts parallel to the plane of the base plate and includes at least two reagent feeders leading into a mixer structure that has a number of inlets corresponding to the number of reagent feeders and an outlet leading into a mixing section, the outlet of the mixing section leads into a measuring section, the outlet of the measuring section is connected to a discharge section, the discharge section leads out of the base plate or into a reservoir that is arranged on the chip, and pressure conduits lead into the reagent feeders at a distance from the mixer structure.

  • Patent number: 6742544
Abstract: A novel gas injection valve for injecting discrete charges of gas into a mobile phase or carrier stream is provided. Injection valves of the invention comprise a plurality of microvalves capable of receiving gas at different pressures and emitting discrete charges of gas at approximately the same pressure. The invention further provides for parallel injection valve arrays capable of injecting multiple samples substantially simultaneously and a method of injecting discrete gas samples at a controlled pressure to a high-resolution gas chromatograph.
