Abstract: The invention describes, and illustrates, a strapping apparatus for strapping packages using a strapping means, having a packaging table, on which the package is guided through the apparatus, having vertical supports, which are arranged laterally in relation to the packaging table and on which a press plate can be displaced vertically, having an arrangement device for arranging an edge-protection means, it being possible for the arrangement device to be displaced horizontally on the press plate along a movement path, and having a controller, which moves the arrangement device into an arrangement position for arranging the edge-protection means on the package, wherein a means for sensing the position of the package is arranged in an entry region of the strapping apparatus, and the position-sensing means senses an entry position of the package during the entry movement thereof.

Abstract: A strapping apparatus (10) for packages, has a packing table (11) on which the package (13) to be strapped lies. The apparatus has vertically oriented supports (17) which are arranged laterally on the packing table (11), a horizontally oriented pressing plate (18) which is arranged on the vertical supports (11) and which is movable in a vertical direction, and a device, situated on the pressing plate (18), for the arrangement of an edge protection means on the package (13) lying on the packing table (11). The device for the arrangement of the edge protection means can be moved from an initial position remote from the package into an arrangement position close to the package (13). The device includes at least one magazine (19), arranged on the pressing plate (18), for the supply of edge protection means and has a first clearance outline profile which is delimited by the packing table (11), the vertical supports (17), the pressing plate (18) and the at least one magazine (19).

Abstract: A strapping apparatus (10) for packages (16) has a frame-like strapping channel which is composed of an upper and a lower channel section (19) which are connected by way of a first and a second vertical section (18, 20). A first diverting device connects (21) the first vertical section to the lower channel section, and a second diverting device (22) connects the lower channel section to the second vertical section. A bayonet (24) which can be inserted along a movement path alternative to the lower channel section (19) into the strapping channel, in which the insertion movement is directed from the first to the second diverting device. The first diverting device is mounted on a pivot axle (27) by means of which the first diverting device can be moved from a normal position, which connects the first vertical section and the lower channel section, into a deflected position, in which the connection is eliminated.
